I've eaten here several times out of convenience when I don't want to drive anywhere for lunch, but I'm just going to start making the extra effort because this place sucks. And a $18 lunch buffet super sucks. There is never anything on the buffet. All the chicken is full of bones. I spend my whole meal picking little bones out of my mouth or eating around cartilage. No vegetables just soupy lentils. No dessert, just dried out rice. Never again. Lzaza over around Drake is the best Indian food in Des Moines. Hands down.

while the wait staff was a bit disorganized, they were friendly and attentive and constantly checked in on me while I ate. I had the veg avakai dum biriani, which I've had at maybe a dozen places but this was by far the best I've had, I'd have expected 20 dollars an entree but it was only 12 dollars for the dish. fantastic experience overall and if you're into Indian beer they have a great selection.

Found another fantastic place to eat in DSM! The Samosas are so flavorful , stuffed with filling , and just the right amount of crunch on the outside. All the traditional dishes I love , plus a whole page of new dishes. Can’t wait to try them all… and it’s easy with the weekly buffet-Can’t wait to see what on the buffet tomorrow

Came to Chowrastha for lunch. The buffet looked delicious but we have our favorites so ordered off the menu. Samosa, chicken pakora, paneer Tikka masala, and cheese Naan were superb! Finished it off with a mango lassi....will be back for sure!

1. I never liked how the food tasted here.2. I think the quantity of meat on the biriyani is extremely low.3. The service was not good at all. The waiter never checked whether we needed any water or something.Overall, I would not recommend this place.

I had placed an order yesterday to go at 4:30pm, they open at 5 and pick up time was 5:30. My order included Cheese naan & garlic naan which was okay, paneer kadhai was good. For appetizers I had schezwan noodles - there was NO taste, the worst part was the Paneer Munchurian it was stiff hard as a rock. I am pretty sure they had used the leftovers. I’m from India so I know the difference between fresh & stale. It was very disappointing that they would sell old food may be from their buffet leftovers. Even though they had enough time to make fresh food.
