Staff very unprofessional, no connection with customer. Hanging around bar on their phones eating food. Discussing who did not show up to work , I believe this was manager on duty not sure . Did not pick up dirty dishes when customer done with plate , very disappointed!! I grew up in the junction been going to tavern since my parents used to take me . Not on my choice of pizza places to go anymore

This place is the quintessential Midwestern pizza place. The server we had was an absolute sweetheart and the food was exactly what we were craving. If you're looking for fine dining this is not the place to be, but if you're looking for a homey atmosphere and a comforting meal I couldn't recommend the tavern more.

I little rough around the edges but really good pizza. Service was good and we got our pizza in a decent amount of time. Pizza was a bit pricey but most places have expensive pizzas now. I really enjoyed the pizza and I will be back.

My first time wasn't the best but I am very glad I was willing to give them another chance, because my burger on my second trip was phenomenal. They even did the bacon suuuuper crisp the way I like without me even saying anything. Waitress seemed nice and like she cares about doing a good job. Had an issue with the pepper not wanting to come out of the shaker fast enough (I REALLY like pepper 😄) and she went to different tables to test the shakers and find me a good one, that was awesome.

Had the italian grinder this time. Delicious!
They were busy with the Farmer's Market rush, so service was a little slower.

We visited The Tavern in Valley Junction on the 8th of August around 4:30 PM and had a mixed experience. The food was very good—the salads were fresh, and the parmesan dressing was excellent. The pizza was also solid, well-made and tasty.

Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. For the majority of our visit, we were the only two customers, yet the staff seemed more focused on personal conversations than guest experience. Our pizza took 35–45 minutes to arrive, and after it was delivered, no one checked back or asked if we needed anything else. We eventually had to go to the counter just to get a refill.

During our visit, two out of three staff members spent most of the time discussing their second jobs and careers in nursing—including a manager or assistant manager who joined the conversation, which included a few inappropriate swear words. It felt unprofessional and made the atmosphere feel more like a breakroom than a welcoming restaurant.

If you’re just here for the food, it’s worth trying. But if you’re expecting attentive service or a refined atmosphere, you might be disappointed.

Just a very aged environment. Doesn’t feel like things are taken care of and up to date. Soda was hardly carbonated and the pizza crust is hard as all hell every time. The manager is also very pushy and wouldn’t let us sit where we wanted. Would never recommend.

Just over all amazing, very clean, staff is kind, food is great, shakes are delicious, honestly I don't know how this place isn't always packed with a line out the door.

Absolutely horrible service. They had very Rude staff. Unpleasant atmosphere. Not child friendly. Had to get up and leave.

The Tavern’s pizza has been my favorite for years, however I hadn’t eaten there for several months. Today, I was served an impossibly thin crust pizza that could not support the sausage and onions topping. The sauce was undercooked and made the crust soggy. There was little seasoning and the sausage was bland. It was barely edible. I won’t even go into the stuffing coming out of the two-inch slit in the upholstery on the booth seat. If the food had been as good as it used to be, I would be able to overlook the dingy environment. I feel like I’ve lost an old friend, a former favorite restaurant.

Came here for pizzas. On our small pizzas (7") it seemed like the dough came out of a freezer box of premade store bought dough.

Then they cooked them until they were like burnt crackers. The toppings were nice, but that's about it. Side salad seemed fresh so that's a plus, but the pizza made us sad.

Came in around 8PM on a Saturday just after the Saturday rush. We got amazing service. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. I got a meat eater Calzone. My wife had a chicken Alfredo and our son ate a plate of Spaghetti. All of it was great and we really enjoyed our meal.
The wait staff was friendly and very personable. Best of all the prices are reasonable. I think our family just found our new favorite pizza place!

Parking: Depending on the time of day, I can see this being pretty difficult to find parking but since we came after the big dinner rush, it wasn’t too bad. We got a spot right out front.

Kid-friendliness: They have a very decent and well priced kids menu.

One of the only spots all of kids and all of the adults in our family agree on. It’s kid friendly, tons of menu options, food is consistently great, service is friendly.
