DQ advertised and sent an email at my school for a free blizzard during educator week. Go to this one and they said they don’t participate in that.

This is the best Dairy Queen in Des Moines. Worth the trip every time!

Every time my family is in town we try to get DQ, because it’s close by. They are always out of stuff and never have the (very limited) food available. They only serve hot dogs/chili dogs here, but they never have them available. Either they are “out” or the kitchen is closed, sometimes as early as 7PM. We always think it’ll be different, but I don’t see us returning to this location again. There is always something. Remove the food altogether if you cannot accommodate this service.

Worst DQ I've ever been too. I tried several times, but always the same result.

1) Lobby is closed after 7pm, drive thru only
2) Barely any candy in a Blizzard.
3) Often will give you the wrong order.

My advice, drive a few miles to a better DQ or try one of the Mom & Pop places.

We really want to like this DQ because it’s closest to us. But their blizzards are consistently disappointing. They are not filled to the top of the cup and sometimes there are big air pockets I guess from when they mix it. Usually the bottom half of the blizzard is just pure ice cream and no toppings. It’s like they are always in a hurry and don’t pay attention to the amount of ice cream and then barely mix it. Other DQs such as the one further down Grand by 63rd have their blizzards overflowing and do the “upside down” test. No skimping on mix-ins at that location. With how expensive Blizzards are, you want them made correctly and not thrown together without even filling the cup. We tried and tried and they are consistently bad, so from now on we are driving the extra distance to go elsewhere.

Great service. We were asked if we qualify for the senior discount. No one had ever asked us that before. We do. So, received a 10% discount. The blizzards were good but looks like the medium size is not as big as in the past. Not surprising

Parking: No problem this time.

This location is the closest for me but honestly I would rather drive farther to a different location most of the time. Had so many issues with this location. Their lobby isn’t even open half the time. I have done special requests at all the other DQ locations but this one never allows it and they are quite rude about me even asking them.
