Our family of 5 was visiting Des Moines and found this gem of a restaurant. It was packed and there was a 20 minute wait but we had the option of sitting at the bar which we did. Our waitress Adrianne took great care of us. Food was amazing! The whole experience was great.

Early Bird in West Des Moines is such a solid weekend breakfast spot. We had the Traveler’s Omelette and the Crab Rangoon Omelette, and both were full of flavor! The food and service are always consistently excellent. Highly recommend for a fun, reliable brunch stop!

Gage is a phenomenal help. Found out he was the manager and he gave me great food recs! Chicken & waffles with bacon jam on the side! Yum

As the food and the drink were the delicious in the moment but us got sick that afternoon into the night

8 people in our party. They were busy. Full. We were surprised to only wait 15 minutes. We sat at a u shaped booth made it easy for us to all visit. Food was amazing I had the banana bread French toast. It was amazing. Everyone's food looked great! Seemed like we ordered and our food was right out! Our server Autumn was so attentive. Chatted with us like we were the only ones there. Definitely going to be our go to! Thank you!

While the wait was long, we were able to sit at the bar as soon as we walked in and I’m glad we chose to stay and eat there. The “Cinny-bobs” (first picture) were AMAZING. I cannot recommend them enough as an appetizer! I had the Churro Waffles for my meal and my sweet tooth was definitely overly satisfied between the two of these, but I don’t think I’d order anything different if I went again. The waffles were fluffy and slightly crispy on the outside and were perfect. Overall delicious food!

I had such a great experience at Early Bird in Waukee today! The vibe was upbeat and welcoming — perfect for a weekend brunch. I ordered the breakfast pizza, and it was absolutely delicious — the crust was crisp, the toppings were perfectly balanced, and every bite was packed with flavor. I also tried one of their breakfast shots, which was such a fun and tasty addition to the meal!

What really made the visit stand out was how friendly and amazing the owner was. You can tell she genuinely cares about creating a great experience for her guests — her energy and hospitality made the meal even better.

The staff was wonderful, the service was quick even with a busy crowd, and the overall atmosphere was warm and fun. Highly recommend Early Bird in Waukee for anyone

I had such a great experience at Early Bird today! I tried the blueberry pancakes and the bacon gravy flatbread, and both were fantastic. The pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor — the blueberries tasted super fresh — and the bacon gravy flatbread was such a unique, savory treat. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming — the perfect spot for a relaxed brunch. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!
