One of the best meals I've ever had! The atmosphere was very relaxing, the dish choices were staggering, and the level to which the foods for every dish complimented each other truly left nothing left to desire, especially with the ability to customize the spice for every dish! I haven't had Thai food before, but if this is what it's like I love it! Appreciate the desert options as well, and would absolutely recommend the macarons! Absolutely will be coming back.Parking: Average strip mall parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no automatic opening door, but I don't remember if there was a ramp or not to the strip mall sidewalk.

Small, intimate, authentic Thai restaurant. We’ve lived in West Des Moines for 6 years and this is one of our favorites. Very friendly service!

It’s unfortunate that a place with decent food has terrible business practices. The service is lacking. Staff makes you feel unwelcome and don’t honor their business hours. They’ll turn you away an hour before closing. If you’re open until 8pm then that doesn’t mean 7pm, or at least put up notice. Also they overprice their deserts yet they claim it’s a special. There are many other places around town to choose from where you’ll be appreciated for your business.

This was soooooo good. Fresh af gyoza, killer pad se ew, lovely pineapple fried rice and the best Panang I’ve had in years. I live in dc and once complained about DSM not having great Thai (good not great) but this is great. 10/10.Kids loved it too and the service makes it worth a dine in experience. From my 10 y/o niece:The food was so good and the waitress was so kind. we had a blast time I recommend it. I would go every day if I could and it is all homemade/fresh!??Kid-friendliness: You control the spice level so we ordered everything spice free and they gave me some dry chili on the side

One of the primary reasons I elect to eat Asian food is for the love of fried rice. The Chicken Fried Rice was full of succulent chicken chunks, sliced carrots and other goodness that made the flavor chart sizzle. The hostess greeted each customer entering with a warm friendly mantra "welcome back" whether you were a new or repeat patron. The atmosphere, although small, with only ten customer booths parlayed to soft music, a clean floor, well kept vintage furnishings with a menu that was full of vegan and creative Asian well seasoned moderately priced $$ options. Of course the best was it is a local family owned restaurant with an abundance of gluten free, kid options and healthy entrees.

Thai fried rice served hot, fresh and super delicious. The entree was enough for two meals. Great locally owned location with a plethora of vegetarian options.

Can't believe I've never reviewed Eat Thai... I've eaten here probably 25-30 times over the years and never had a bad meal. Incredibly consistent, and the staff is alway super friendly. Easily my favorite Thai place in DSM.

Eat Thai is a hidden gem located in a strip mall. I had to try it after many recommendations and I was not disappointed. As you enter into the quaint restaurant, I received a warm greeting. I decided to try the Pad Thai with beef, a classic and my go to at any Thai restaurant. My order was ready within 10 minutes showcasing their efficiency and dedication to serving quality food. The food stayed warm on my ride home which I appreciate. The Pad Thai was delicious and flavorful but it left me desiring more of the succulent beef that I had anticipated. The lack of beef left me with a sea of noodles which was disappointing. I will definitely be requesting extra meat next time. Although I would have preferred more meat in my Pad Thai, the flavor and warm hospitality is enough for me to go back again!

My wife and I stopped in for lunch today. The server was very helpful and polite while explaining menu items as it related to vegetarian and vegan ingredients. The menu listed my selected dish - Spicy Basil - consists of a choice of meat (chicken, pork, beef, tofu, or mixed vegetables) sauteed onion, bell peppers, carrot, and spicy chili sauce and basil leaves. I selected vegetables as my choice. When my Spicy Basil arrived (see attached photo), my wife and I exchanged puzzled looks. I received the main ingredients, and I guess, vegetables - because a single green bean lurked under the onions. Some shredded romaine was the salad, and a scoop of Jasmine rice accompanied the dish. The food was good, but even for a lunch-sized menu and price, it was easily the skimpiest portion I've ever received in an Asian restaurant in the metro. I say this in comparison to similar establishments - Thai Flavors, Tsing Tsao, etc. - when considering lunch menu, price, and portions. All places are different, I agree. And in that regard, Eat Thai Thai Eatery, was different and notable. It's notable for the smallest portions I've ever received. Our server checked on us, asking if everything was ok. I didn't know how to respond; the service was good, the food was ok. Since it was our first visit, we didn't know what to expect; upon reflection, however, I wish I'd asked if this is their typical portion size for $11.

Had the Green Curry with Tofu takeout, and it was amazing. Some of the best Thai in Des Moines.

I have come here since before it was Eat Thai! I knew the original owner when it was King & I! I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years. Even under different owners they have stayed consistent with the quality, flavor, and service. I have tried many other Thai locations in and outside of Des Moines. This is the one place I come back to time and time again.
