Best burrito ive had in iowa. Had thr burrito Mexicano and it was delicious. The flavor with the red and green sauce brought it to another level. Love thr heat that it came with. Love a burrito with hot sauce that makes your head sweat.

This is one of the best restaurants around. The El Rey fajitas are the best I've had anywhere. Go there and support this local restaurant!

Very small portions. This is what a bowl with “double chicken” looks like for $18.

I love this place, been a hidden gem of West Des Moines for years, and their options are amazing. They serve some of the biggest burritos I have ever found in the United States, and I am pretty well traveled. If you want to try it, the Rey-Rey size burrito will have you with your eyes popping out of your head.

Everything here is authentic Mexicano recipes, cooking methods, and atmosphere. Feels like a retro sit-down right over the border, and I love it. I personally like the papas y chorizo burrito, but they have so MANY options as well aside from their burritos.

If you want a true, authentic experience, please try this place. It is worth a fifteen minute wait for your food, trust me.

This is the best biggest burrito ever and they have been around the valley junction area. If your hungry and need to be satisfied. This place is it. I can't ever give all stars in any review but this is the closest anyone has got from me. The Rey,Rey what a wonderful day.

I have been going to El Ray for years. My dad showed me this spot when I was younger, and ever since, it's been my favorite local spot. I love the atmosphere, considering the fact that it's an old service station is so neat, and it is always so clean and well kept inside. The service is quick, and the owners are awesome people. Always super kind and well-spoken. And the food, chefs kiss. On any day, no matter how I'm feeling, the El Ray steak burrito with hot sauce always lifts my mood and makes me feel so good. This is heartwarming food, and it's a meal you'll never let down.

Mexican diner vibes. Seat yourself, table service, quick food delivery. I had the chicken regular burrito without lettuce. It was great. The staff was very accommodating for my kiddos burrito without meat and everything was exactly how we ordered it.

Very very good authentic Mexican food. I will definitely eat at El Ray's the next time I am in the Des Moines area! The service was great. The food seemed to only take moments to be made fresh and served to us.
