Really good service here. One of the better HyVees in the area. People are friendly too unlike the folks at the wall to wall. Maybe I’ll hold off before heading to Fareway.
The Hibachi at this location barely wants to give you any noodles. When you go to the self serve locations it is a lot better. You can get the correct portions you want. They should all be self serve.
Was at the Valley West MG earlier. Keg cooler broken for a month now & mgmt there hides or just closes down MG instead of resolving. So I stopped here on 51st instead.
At 3pm they had no one & another customer had been waiting for a while. We spoke to other employees & the bartender was running late. So instead of us being denied & told MG just closed, they actually got a manager to help. And she did help! And was very personable to everyone as several more customers showed up. Just wanted to praise this MG for actually taking care of all the customers.
But if HyVee is closing all MGs in August they need to say so already instead of having prior staff make rumors.

Rudest two ladies working the bar/grille ever. They act like you’re bothering them for service. Treated very poorly when picking up an order.

We usually really like their food but today was disappointing. Only reason I'm posting here is bc we already address it with our server and she basically acted as if they couldnt do anything about it. Fries were chewy, not fresh. Wontons were over cooked. We ask to have them recooked. They came back the same way and acted like they would be raw if it were cooked any other way. Would love to post pics but I don't see an option

We visited from Mississippi. The food was great but the service even better. We met a kindred soul when we met our server Gabriella. She is the absolute sweetest and most thoughtful person ever. Appreciated her so much that we came back for a second visit and brought my sister along with my husband and I. You can get good food at a lot of places but exceptional service is hard to find. Thanks again Gabriella and Hy-Vee Market grill for hiring her. I would also like to add that we went to the grocery department and all the employees we walked past greeted us warmly. If I am ever in Des Moines again, I will frequent your establishment.

Always top Shelf
Went out for HyChi and ordered some egg drop soup, and this is what we got. My wife and toddler ate a bit before we noticed. I brought it to the attention of a shift manager and he was very apologetic and swiftly took care of the issue, but keep an eye on your food.

Love this place, they do not waste food, they use rhem in the restaurant the have, or make their own salads, etc... the service in Sioux Falls are great. Here the cashier was not in a good mood. But, everything else was great. The waiter at the restaurant qas very nice
I usually have a good experience at Hy-Vee breakfast, but this was just abysmal. Toast was burnt, ordered over medium eggs got over hard, and the potatoes were just a soggy mess. Only saving grace was the pancakes and sausage.
Slow food ok
