KPOT Korean BBQ and Hot Pot

If you haven’t been to KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in West Des Moines yet, what are you even doing?! This place is an absolute foodie paradise where you can grill up your own Korean BBQ AND dive into a bubbling hot pot, all in one spot! And of course we did both. 👨‍🍳 Service? Top-notch. The staff is friendly, fast, and always ready to refill your plates and recommend the best sauce combos. Our server Sarah B was phenomenal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 would recommend—just make sure you come hungry!

It was a fun experience. Lots of choices in many categories. We will definitely be back! Our server Tiffney explained how the dinner was chosen and ordered. She made the process fun!

My review is based on the music choice that they had playing during our visit. Dropping the N word throughout your music is uncalled for for my 10 year old to be listening to. Oh yeah, not to mention the two and a half hour line

Absolutely amazing place for korean food and definitely was a long time coming around West Des Moines area. However, we are glad that it is here now. 😊

We had a group of 11 and all of us had a great time and loved the atmosphere of the place and the depth of the menu items. Plenty to choose from for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Ordering for a group is seamless with the provided tablet for the table. Servers and staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only gripe we had was with how reservations aren’t accepted here and yelp wait times weren’t very accurate. We ended up waiting around 2 hours but it was well worth it. Hopefully, the reservation side of things get resolved going forward but will definitely be back either way 😀

Amazing experience, delicious food. Highly recommend. Consider arriving a few minutes prior to opening time to avoid a potentially long wait if possible. But even the wait is worth it!

Food was AMAZING! Our server was okay I mean she was nice and explained a few things to us. We went there for my daughters birthday and our server keep pressing us to get the check and mid you it was only not even an hour into our visit when the website said 2 hour limit. She came back 2 times asking if we wanted the check and told her no. When we finally get the check she hands us the book with the receipt and she’s standing there for a good 2 mins waiting for my boyfriend too pay for the tab, and she was holding out the pad to pay when we have no form of payment out yet. She eventually got the hint and walked away and then came to get our card. Food is good but service can be better felt like I was really rushed during my visit didn’t get to enjoy as much

What took you so long to get to Des Moines??? I love that you opened and serve real KBBQ. I love it! Great food, great service (Thanks Lily), fun atmosphere. Bonus, AYCE. I will be back soon for hot pot, too full to do both in one sitting.

I had an absolute blast at my first visit to KPOT, which was also my first KBBQ experience. The whole place has a fun and modern vibe with lots of sleek lines and neon signs. K-pop was the soundtrack the night we went which really added to the fun vibes.
Zoe was our server and was so attentive and helpful. She walked us through the options and answered all of our questions. She even brought kimchi to us when we couldn't find it on the banchan bar.
The tablet ordering system was super easy to use and all of our items arrived very quickly. Everything was delicious but beef bulgogi and garlic shrimp were stand-outs.
Also make sure to leave a little space for dessert. They have a shockingly delicious cake with whipped icing that is butterscotchy heaven.
We arrived at 630 on a weeknight and we're quoted 60-90 minutes for a table. They took our number so we were able to pop over to the mall for a bit. We got a verification text that we were on the wait-list and a "heads up" text about 20 minutes later that gave us an expected seating time. According to time stamps our table was ready in 36 minutes. I wish more places had a wait-list system like this, so convenient!!
I can't wait to come back and try hot pot next.

We got seated at 8:32 pm. Everything was going well UNTIL our tablet died. We had to flag the waiter to get our order. Unfortunately, the kitchen brought items we didn't order or not the correct amount. Most of the time we sat and waited and waited patiently. The manager just wanted to argue that the kitchen closes at 9:30pm. We understand that but it wasn't our fault that we had to wait. We are still hungry and now we have to find something to eat. We been to 2 different kpots and 2 Korean bbq restaurants in Idaho and Texas. We are very disappointed. The waiter try his best but the experience was pathetic
