This is the worst place to eat, it dirty and they can't bbq, and they know nothing about bbq.no pickles or bread and they forgot my sides and dessert I'm over them.

We went on a Friday. It wasn't packed, but not empty either. Plenty of seating and parking. The tables have games and chalks for writing on the wall. I like the menu options and varietiy. It took more than 30 minutes to get our order. My brother in-law went first and had put his order in. Mine came out before his. I think they lost his order, because they had to come ask what they ordered. Took a while to get the drinks and we had to get up and do our own refills. Maybe they were short staffed for a Friday night. We got there around 6:30 and there were a few items that were already out. We ordered the whole slab of rib combo. This came with 9 pieces of ribs and two small sides for $33. I also go the catfish combo. We got potatoe salad, greens, cornbread, and macaroni. Potato salad and macaroni was decent and the greens were good. I Iiked.that they got that home cooked vibe and taste to it. Portion wise I thinks it's about a half cup to 3/4 cup serving on the sides that came in a small Styrofoam cup. The cornbread was semi sweet, but burnt around the cupcake paper. It had probably been left in the oven too long otherwise it would have been good. I was very disappointed on the catfish. It was a very huge piece, with a thick cornmeal breading that was overcooked. It burned the outside before it got to the fish. The catfish was very fishy towards the thicker part and I didn't finish it. The ribs were okay. I wasn't a big fan of it. It didn't have the fall of the bone feel and the sauce was very sweet. My brother in-law got the 3 meat platter. He got wings, pastrami, and pulled pork. Wings had a really good coating and flavor to it. My first time trying pastrami and I thought it was really good. Got that smokey flavor to it. Would have been excellent on a sandwich. The pulled pork looked good. For the price, taste, and quality of the food, I will get more bang for my bucks at Famous Dave's. If I went back, I would do chicken wings, fries, and greens. I would also go way before closing time, like at 4. I wish they could be more generous on the side portions. The people work there seem nice, but no one came to follow up with us once we got our food. There's room for improvement and this place can be really good.

New to the East side, and still are working on getting correct orders because of that, but we were glad there were a couple of order mistakes because we got to try things we might not have otherwise! The brisket sandwiches are amazing as is the smoked Turkey! Piled high with just the right amount of smoke and the sauce was perfect! I’m glad I got the smoked Turkey as it was tender and juicy,. I am allergic to onions so I usually can’t eat potato salad at restaurants, but their has no onions and was wonderful! And the fried Okra was so good! It was getting busy, so the owners little girl brought us menus and we were got to talk to her… such a nice family and such a great addition to the East side! We will definitely be back

Everything was outstanding, steak and chezze sandwich, crinkle FF best I have had in DSM. Mac&chezze one of the best.

Recommend you run here.! L-spud with brisket, fried pickles, Beans, lemon pepper wings. The bbq sauce is sweet and delicious. I literally love this place. The staff is so nice. Just good food & good people. Whatever theyre doing in that kitchen, they've got the right stuff.!! I'm a FOREVER CUSTOMER!

Lovely people, clean place.! I had ribs, The sauce was so good the ribs were falling off the bone.!! Fries are great, loved the mac n cheese balls.! Yams had some black licorice taste i didnt like, but they were cooked perfect.! Just a personal preference though.! I will def be coming back here alot.! Got alot of other stuff for me to get.! I love trying new foods and flavors. This place has their own taste. ?

I recently ate at the new location on 14th and the food was awesome! The ribs and brisket are the best in Des Moines. The sauce is unique and tasty. Definitely a must try for BBQ lovers. Thanks Leachmon’s!

best BBQ in town. Doesn't matter what you order, everything is awesome. Special spot for the catfish though, it can be tricky to get catfish right.

I love chicken wings but I find it difficult to find a restaurant to meet my standards. This place exceeded my expectations and then some! Places like Wing stop has rubbery/lackluster wings. This place has crispy, perfectly seasoned and amazingly textured wings. Wait time was a bit long but worth it. Can't wait to go back!! Service was ?

Oh my word!! I have been going aroud Des Moines trying different BBQ places, this place stands out!! I got the brisket, fried okra and slaw, the brisket was so tender you couldn't keep it on the fork! So delicious! The slaw was extremely fresh and crunchy! The fried okra was so fresh and just the right crunch! It comes with a corn muffins that is very good too! Now I know why everyone says this place has amazing food! They really do! Gotta come try this!
