I have now eaten here three times, so this review was not just a review on one “bad experience”. The only food here that is decent is their chips and salsa. Every time that I have eaten here I have had sides of rice and beans.. EVERYTIME the rice has been very hard, and the bean looked like they had been mixed with water.. you get about 3 beans and a cup of bean juice. Also.. the margaritas may honestly be the worse drinks I’ve had at a Mexican restaurant. Tastes like expired flavorings and bottom self (LIGHT POURED) tequila.
On the bright side, the service has always been ok.
I would not recommend eating here unless you are just buying their brand chips from the store.

My fiance and I went in for takeout and we were treated very warmly. My fiance has a long day at work and the kind treatment we received really went a long way. I didn't catch the name of the gentlemen who helped us but you are very appreciated. Great service, delish food and kind people on an icy day. We'll come back to dine in soon

This was such a pleasant surprise! Service phenomenal (shout out to Katlyn and Allison), salsa so yummy and the steak fajitas……juicy tender and loaded with onions and peppers. This is the best Mexican food I have had in the state!

We ordered from the lunch menu: I had the skirt steak fajitas, and my wife ordered two cheese enchiladas and the guacamole. I've made skirt steak fajitas myself, so I know these were not very good. Skirt steak is supposed to be lean and tender; this was fatty and chewy. And WAY too over-seasoned. It's kind of hard to screw up cheese enchiladas, but they gave it their best shot. Again, WAY too over-seasoned. This "more seasoning = more flavor" thing is dead wrong, IMHO. At a certain point, they just start competing with each other and drown out the flavor of the actual food (which is maybe the point?). And, most egregious of all, the guacamole was horrendous. In lieu of the normal tomato and onion and a little salt and lime, which is really all it takes for a decent guac, this was predominantly unripe avocado and a bunch of spices. Very disappointing.

Chad was a great server. Walked in, smelled like a barn. Salsa was way too sweet. Marg had maybe half a shot of Tequila. Ranchadila was basically canned chili, uncle Ben's rice and I don't know what to call the refried beans. I think my birria tacos were crock pot roast beef. Again, our server Chad was great. NOT WORTH $60 FOR 2 PEOPLE

The current crew (including a server Raul, a manager named Allison) is doing an incredible job. We have to pass nearly a dozen local Mexican food places to drive "across town" to get to On the Border, so we rarely do. And, generally, we much prefer to support local mom-and-pop places. But man, the service here has just been so over-the-top good during our visits, and we prefer their cheese dip. The rewards program also makes it a good value.

Great Food, Lively Atmosphere!
We recently visited On The Border, and I had a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was vibrant and welcoming, with a perfect balance of casual and festive. The food was absolutely delicious—everything from the chips and salsa to the sizzling fajitas was flavorful and well-prepared. Their vegetarian Quesadillas and Bolder Veg Bowl were some of the best I’ve had, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed for a great meal. Whether you’re in the mood for a family dinner or a night out with friends, On The Border is a perfect choice for great Tex-Mex cuisine. Highly recommend!

I took my daughter for a birthday lunch and was not disappointed. The food was outstanding! Our chile rellenos were cooked fresh, were huge, crispy and full of delicious melted cheese! Great flavors on the salsa, chicken flauta and beans and rice! Nice and spicy, not bland at all! For dessert mini sopapillas with chocolate sauce and honey. They come in a basket fresh and hot dusted with cinnamon sugar. It was insanely good! Prices were very reasonable and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. But...the star was out server, Heather went above and beyond. She intuitively picked up on that my daughter is as vegetarian and offered alternative beans and rice options with no lard or broth. She was attentive to our needs and so pleasant. She truly made our dining experience special! I will definitely be back to dine again!
