Very well-prepared food, many choices not available elsewhere in metro Des Moines. Last dine-in visit: had our credit card charged twice. We didn't notice this until the monthly card statement arrived. This was resolved after a few phone calls to restaurant and credit card company. Next visit was take out: again, very good food, but one salad was not included, and of course not noted until we were home. TL:DR: very good food, restaurant could use some work on quality control.
Parking: easy to park directly in front of restaurant

12/19/24 I ordered delivery. I had the creamy Steak de Burgo medium rare, but came medium instead. Salad was great. I had a half order of onion rings, not good, no onion flavor. I think it's the quality of the onions they use. Same problem at other places too.
12/7/24 I ordered delivery. My order was 5he same as before.
4 stars, because I only got 4 slices of mushrooms and they didn't provide any silverware and napkins.
11/9/24 I ordered delivery. My order was creamy Steak de Burgo, salad, garlic knots and baklava. Everything was freshly made and delicious. The steak was tender and flavorful.

Really wanted to like this place based on great reviews. Went for dinner for the first time tonight. Started with mules - they were good. Server was very busy but was pretty attentive. We sat in the bar area due to crowds and it was freezing - fireplace is just a visual. Ordered 2 spaghetti w/meatballs entrees. Came with a very small ordinary salad. We asked if we should order garlic knots because they looked SO good in pictures, the waitress said no because we would get some for free brought to the table. I was shocked when she brought them - they are SO tiny. The flavor is decent but they aren’t warm, soft and buttery as in the pictures. I didn’t like my spaghetti at all - the sauce had a weird, almost sour flavor, I guess I prefer the sauce to be heartier with more flavor and a little sweeter. For a restaurant that claims to be “Italian” it wasn’t good. I didn’t eat it and the server didn’t ask us how we liked our order. It seems like a good menu with lots of choices and some great happy hour deals so we may give it another chance and try gyros. Would not get Italian again due to the sauce. I was not impressed with this visit, but there must be something to this place because it was packed!

The buffet was excellent with amazing flavor. Where else can you get a seasoned steak on a buffe? Absolutely will be back and recommend this place! 5 stars

The food is amazing and the staff is very ice and welcoming. We recommend this place to all our friends.
this place is a total joke!!! they proceeded to give us the $4.99 slit meal when we didn’t ask for it. charged us for that. when we paid with card, the decided to give themselves a custom tip, (we gave cash tip)

We visited OPA! for an early afternoon lunch on a Saturday and had a great dining experience. The ambiance was warm, intimate and inviting. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our waiter, John, arrived quickly to welcome us and offer menus. The menu options were fabulous and they accommodate shared plates nicely.
I recommend OPA! and plan to visit again.

I'm only giving 4 stars because it's a casual place and the decor is a bit busy but my dinner was excellent! The server was knowledgeable and helpful. Stopped in early during the week so it wasn't busy at all but I'm guessing this hidden gem can get busy!
