My Mom & I dined here for the first time and the food is phenomenal!! I had the ribeye & she had the salmon, and WOW! From the delicious bread, to the salad, mashed potatoes & asparagus - seasonings were perfection! Your servers are also top notch!! We will be back!!

Chef Dominic creates amazing dishes. triple cooked bacon is our favorite starter, and have loved everything we've tried so far. Definitely a perfect date night spot!

Rachel H. was the kindest server that I have EVER met. She shook my hand and was so thoughtful. We came for hubby and I's anniversary and she made it so special.
P.s. get the 50/50 Mashed Potatoes ?

Attended a birthday celebration here last night in the side room. Shout out to Nicolette & Michelle for their rockstar service throughout the evening. Way too many people in the small room, so their jobs were incredibly difficult for a time and they shined. Positive attitudes, extremely friendly, & attentive. Folks like them make a restaurant for sure!

I’ve never done a restaurant review but this place was way overpriced for a very mediocre tasting steak.
If you want a great steak go to Flemings or Ruth Chris. This place charged $62 dollars for a tiny steak, and of course nothing included so then you order the $20 potatoes. They charged for bread and when we bought a dirty martini they charged $3 extra because we asked for a stuffed olive. The actual cocktail menu has about 5 choices on it then they try to upscale you to their “prime” drink list where a old fashioned cost $45.
The atmosphere is not good either. We have been to restaurants all over the country and this one was one of the most disappointing restaurants we have ever been too.
The server was good though.

I feel so special! A birthday celebration with friends at Prime and Providence met me at the door with a pretty flower plucked from a bouquet at the hostess desk, a menu for all members at my table with Happy Birthday Shirley printed on it, tasty food, delicious drink and a waiter giving excellent service. (Terry). This was a bar bites and happy hour gathering. You will love a visit to this restaurant.

This is now our favorite special occasion restaurant. The one of a kind charcoal grill, fresh decor, and excellent drinks make this restaurant the best Des Moines has to offer.

If I could give this restaurant more stars, I would. From the moment we walked through the door the evening was special. Today was my husband's birthday and the menu said, Happy Birthday Daniel 10/3/2024 at the top. The table was decorated with confetti ?. We started our evening off with the house focaccia bread with green garlic butter and a peach, prosciutto salad. It was a special so it isn't on the regular menu. But a must try. The smoked cheese in the salad is amazing. For dinner, I had a filet mignon with au poivre sauce and my husband had a rib eye with candle butter. It would be a cliche to say, but the steak cut like butter and the flavor... amazing. For sides we had the crab creamed corn and 50/50 mashed potatoes potatoes. Can't go wrong with either. For dessert, I highly recommend the triple chocolate cheesecake. I had the carrot cake which I normally love - but in this case, the pomegranate drizzle was too sour and I couldn't eat it. It was disappointing. Our waitress (I apologize for forgetting your name) short red hair, was amazing and deserves high praise. We would definitely return. Plenty of parking.

We were so excited to try this place. Made reservations 2 months in advance, only to be seated right next to the kitchen. The service was good and prompt. However, that was sadly the best part… everything had a slightly burnt taste. Even the Caesar salad tasted funky, albeit a beautiful presentation. The best tasting thing was the crab cake appetizer. The scallops were mushy, the surf and turf also had a burnt taste. The truffle fries were decent with a delicious dipping sauce. The lobster mac and cheese was terrible as well. My Pinot was good. Tried the summertini, and I just couldn’t get onboard with a cucumber in my drink…. Beautiful building, lack luster food. The only thing this place has on 801 Chophouse is the parking lot. Won’t return.
