Excellent cupcakes with the most friendly staff.

Amazing cupcakes! Pricy and no lot of specialsCould make it more appealing to the eye - some decorations, make it cozier while inside even if thevisit is short.

I wouls give 10 stars but it only goes to 5. Best cupcakes EVER.

I've been struggling to find the right words...I didn't love it but I didn't hate it! The chocolate cupcake was good no so sweet the mint I couldn't taste the mint. I would go back for the peanut butter cupcakes. ladies at the counter might want to be more friendly they're not rude (clarifying) they just need to be more happy about being there cupcakes are happy they are supposed to make u smile.. Like I said I would go back. I wonder if they had more variety I was there around 7pm so maybe I'll try earlier time next time. Happy to shop locol and support our communities.

West DSM. Long dark hair young lady, think her name was Macey? Super helpful, helped me pick out the tastiest cupcakes. Would definitely recommend visiting this place! Great staff and great cupcakes!

Delicious! Everything is fresh and always tastes impeccable. Even the flavors I end up not really liking, are still better than Hy-Vee or Walmart regular flavors I would have generally bought in the past before discovering 'Scratch'.We about 2 dozen cupcakes for a birthday party today, so on the way out, I also added a chocolate-chip cookie for myself. Wow! Sorry Grandma, but yours aren't my favorite anymore.

Great food, but we went to late in the day and they only had 3 options left out. BUT all three were YUMMY! Butter pecan cookie, toffee chocolate chip cookie, and some kind of corn bread cupcake-which was bomb dot com. Just saying.

On June 28th the owner replied to my post and corrected the problem. I live in Kansas and have enjoyed the cupcakes from Scratch while visiting family. I know my daughter in law enjoys these cupcakes because they are amazing! Gift cards are (and should be) easy.Thank you for your quick and gentle response.NormOn June 14th, I ordered a gift card for my daughter in law whom lives in Des Moines. I guess I was expecting the card to reach her a few days after the purchase. Today is June 28th and the status:Payment statusPaidFulfillment statusAwaiting ProcessingJust how long would it take for someone to put a card in an envelope and mail it? Shall I call Visa and cancel the transaction? How can you stay in business and treat customers this way?

There isn't enough good things to say about this place.....actually that list can't contain enough good to say! I absolutely love this place.....not only do they always have about 14+ flavors to choose from, the staff is always awesome! I would recommend this bakery to anyone needing a sweet tooth fix or holding a celebration. I've been here several times, and each time literally is a "treat"!VEGAN options available

We loved having Scratch Cupcakes as the desert for our wedding.We chose to have mini cupcakes and they were a hit, our guests could not get enough of them! We also had Scratch make our cake, and it was beautifully done! Working with Scratch for our wedding was easy and their overall communication with us and our wedding planner was above and beyond expectations. We cannot recommend them enough!

The cookie dough was delicious! The young lady helping us at the cookie dough was so nice and patient! The gal getting our cupcakes seemed impatient with us. We got the cupcakes to go and they were delicious once we got them home. The gal at the cash register was quiet but helpful & quick.The only real issue was the noise the front door made every time anyone opened it. It made a loud scatching like noise.

Have always loved this place but the last few times we’ve had cupcakes from there (DSM location), we’ve been disappointed. The cupcakes are drier, smaller, and not as moist or dense as they used to be. They’ve always been highly recommended by me and we used them for our wedding. I’m not sure what happened but they’re just not the same. Hoping it’s not permanent. We will be back as we do want to keep loving them!
