Our friends took us here several years ago and we really enjoyed the experience...finally getting the chance to return and found it just as impressive.
We started with drinks, including a Bloody Mary with Mezcal (see picture) and an After Midnight - both quite tasty. We then ordered Collective Wings (see picture) as an appetizer and found them so delicious that we were tempted to order more of them for our meal.
For our dinner, my wife ordered the Cubano (see picture) and I opted for the Squash Risotto (see picture). As we always do, we shared tastes of each both of us thought that both meals were good enough to order again and recommend.
A great place to eat towards the north end of the Valley Junction 'Strip' with an amazing atmosphere and fantastic service.

Made reservation at downtown location for breakfast on Tock which was confirmed that morning by text. Drove out to restaurant and found out after the fact by email that restaurant had decided to have delayed opening due to weather. Understandable to do so but they should have canceled reservation my on Tock so we wouldnt have driven all the way down there and could have had time to eat elsewhere.
No apology was given until I posted this negative review. And, as already noted, the owner should have notified Tock of their early closure so my reservation would have been cancelled by text rather than hoping I would happen to check my e-mail, which I didn't until much later that morning. I would not have posted this review had the owner/manager simply apologized for my inconvenience instead of saying it was my own fault for not checking my e-mail. There is no good customer service anymore

Legitimately every single time I come here the service is terrible. I worked in the service industry back in the day so I try to give the benefit of the doubt when things go sideways service wise, but it is literally every single time.
The food is amazing, but the majority of the staff seem to either just not listen or seem to treat their job with zero urgency. I’ve resigned to getting take out bc it is that bad. Their restaurant manager needs to drop the hammer.

First time we have been here and we were not disappointed..... seated immediately.... the service was excellent..... and the food was fabulous... cold things fresh crisp and hot things were cooked properly... we are looking forward to trying the other locations as well
Stopped in for lunch and had the smashburger, 4 cheese pizza add hot honey and grilled cheese with mushroom, grilled onion and Fontana. Everything was delicious. One of my favorite spots in Des

Absolutely love this place! The coffee is always perfect no matter what you order. The lattes are on point. Definitely recommend the tiramisu latte. My husband and I have tried the bao buns, brekkie burrito, mushroom grilled cheese, Avocado toast, pastries, etc. It's all been delicious. The staff is super friendly and the service is top notch. Absolutely recommend.

As if I needed a reason to share another 5-star experience at St. Kilda...solo dad time with Odin turned out to be made exponentially better with a stop into St. Kilda.
We made an extended Saturday morning visit to Valley Junction to crank out some errands. When Odin inevitably gave me the sign for hungry, I new St. Kilda would have mom approved food and a kid friendly atmosphere. Little did I know we would get white glove service from Alex Hall (the owner) and his staff. They really made my life so much easier by making sure the options were kid friendly and giving me the toddler interactions that made my job so much easier.
A phenomenal establishment for all times of the day, take out or eat in.
Kid-friendliness: Babies and toddlers abound. The staff knows how to make sure that your experience as a parent and food lover is just as good with the kiddos in tow.

Modern, clean, server was more than happy to accommodate special dietary and personal preference requests. Ladies, they have lovely pretty drinks. Food is stellar, vegetarian options. Lighting and seating are well thought out. You won't be squished. You can sit on a bar stool and watch them make the food. Interesting plates and bowls.
