I grew up in NY where freedom as a kid meant having $1 and being old enough to walk to the corner pizzaria on your own - or having $2 so you could bribe an older sibling to go with you if you weren't old enough to go alone. Plenty of places call themselves NY pizza, but don't come close. The pizza and pasta at TONY is authentic NY. The garlic knots and zepoles are perfect. It's our first stop whenever we're in Des Moines.

Love the pizza here. I have never been to NY, nor would I care to go. But this is some of the best pizza I've ever had. We got the Sicilian and slices of Lasagna pizza and Margherita. All were terrific. It was $25 for four slices and a Coke.

I'm from NY so I'm very picky about my pizza.taste of NY was delicious!!!the girl was cleaning the table in front of me the cleaner was so strong? it effected my allergies I had to take an allergy pill.You should not be spraying that chemical while your customers are eating!

My boyfriend liked his pizza which is why I gave it more than one star but mine was coated in grease, looked and tasted badly. The dough seemed to be either undercooked or sat in the grease so long it became doughy.

Wife and I got garlic knots with cheese, a pepperoni pizza, and the PB explosion. Knots with cheese were pretty good, pizza was massive and thin crust, just as a NY style pizza should be. Very fresh and the service was great.Only thing I would change is the availability of seating but due to its location I don't blame the owners at all. Besides, as we sat and ate, it seemed most of their customers got pizza to go so we could very well be the minority that stays and eats.They also hired a very nice young gentleman who, after talking to him, was in the infantry so it's great that they support vets. Will definitely be coming back here again soon!

Delicious pizza and great service. We had the Tony's special pizza and loved the thin-sliced sausage and tender crust. We had issues with our grub hub delivery, but the team at the restaurant was wonderful and knew exactly when the driver had picked up the order. They even followed up with grub hub and followed up with us to be sure we got our order. Top-notch service.
