We went there Saturday night as a group of 10, surprisingly the place was half empty and we were seated immediately. The server was nice, food good, but they were severely understaffed. We didnt get our drinks until after 30 minutes, didn't take our order until 30 minutes later and food arrived 40 minutes after that.... long story short, our meal took over 2 hours.

Woke up late and wanted to have a late lunch, come here thinking I could enjoy a quick late lunch with my other half. We ordered some cheese bites, a Philly cheesesteak and a pastrami sandwich with a Pepsi each. The bill ends up being 67 dollars………I can deal with the sandwiches being 17.50 each and the pop being 2.50…….but an appetizer of some cheese bites BEING PRICED AT 17.50 AS WELL!!!!????????What in the world is that!? Since when did an appetizer such as cheese bites get to be so expensive!!???? It’s seriously ridiculous…….last time I come that’s for sure.

Well, not sure what another three star review will do to to sway people one way or another, but just in case I'm ever passing through Des Moines again, here's a not to self: Hey Pete! Remember that time you took a road trip from Denver to Milwaukee and stopped in Des Moines? Remember that you went to that restaurant that was weirdly more expensive than it should have been, but the service was ok and the place nice enough? Yeah, that's this place. Try something different if you have time, maybe? It's ok if that's what is available at the moment. It's your basic sports bar tons of TVs a little too noisy American fare place. A-OK, I guess.

For a bar and grill it was actually very good food and beverages. It is typical sports bar but we stopped in for lunch and my husband had a reuben and I had almond crusted chicken strips they were delicious and the drinks we had were very good.

Terrible pizza, tastes like they picked it up from the frozen pizza section at the grocery store. Vibe was alright inside, just a lot of flies around. Also terrible that they have a credit card fee, it's like they are trying to scare away customers.

They serve breakfast daily until 2pm, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was friendly and prompt. The pancakes were fluffy and very tasty. They are served with cinnamon butter. Yum!

Good bar food and a menu for everyone. Service was a little hit and miss. Lots of different severs came to our table of 10 but all were confused on what was ordered or needed etc. ice cold draft beer made up for it.

We were here at 7:15 and ordered right away 8:25 we FINALLY got our food. Not sure if the owner is the old man that doesn't do anything but that's probably why it operates the way it does. Absolutely the worst experience I have had at a restaurant. I live in. Very small town and have seen our restaurants more packed and never there for more than an hour!

The food was good. The server was great! Never had to ask her for anything. BUT the woman’s bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Floors looked they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. While sitting in the stall the plastic cover to the toilet paper kept falling down into my lap. I tried washing my hands, put soap on them, tried to turn on the faucet and to my surprise no water came out. Moved over to the second faucet same thing.. and just my luck No paper towels. Very disappointing.A restaurant can have good food and great service BUT if the bathrooms are as gross as these you won’t get a high rating from me.

Went here around 7:30 for a late dinner with my boyfriend a few days ago. There was a short wait - and not because it was busy, because no one even looked at the host stand for about 10 minutes. Us and another group were about to leave just as they finally seated us.Sat down, were not greeted by a server for at least 10 more minutes so we got up and left.Looking at the menu prices for just chips and salsa we were not about to pay the prices they list. We’d been there before and the food is always subpar, hit or miss. Better food and service at other local DSM establishments. Would have had a better experience at B Bops across the street.

My husband and I love the Grumpy Goat so much that we went with my parents to eat there and the next week we went there with friends! Great atmosphere, very open (the restaurant even has mini garage doors that they open when it's good weather), great service, and even better beer and food! We started out getting beers. My husband got one of the Grumpy Goats house beer and he really liked it. I got the Grumpy Goat sour beer and it was good as well. While it was happy hour, we got 1/2 price appetizers! The steak appetizer was our favorite! It is a must get! All of the food that we ordered was really good. Our favorites included, Nashville chicken and Waffles, mushroom burger, and French dip sandwich. Both times we went they had terrific service.

Food and drinks were really good! Highly recommend the chicken and waffles benny, shrimp and Gouda grits and dole whip mimosa. The only bad things were the bathrooms really need an update- stall doors need locks replaced, one faucet didn’t work, paper towel dispenser didn’t work, and the door made a terribly loud noise. The parking lot also needs the large and numerous pot holes fixed.

The food was good. I like the skinny onion rings, a bit greasy. The sandwich was very good. I believe it was a brioche bun which I really like. The waitress was not real attentive. My husband grabbed his own beer refill at the bar. Lots of TVs and we were able to watch the CWS game. The volume went out so we just had closed captioning which kind of sucked.

We really enjoy eating here when we are in town visiting. The menu has sooooo many good options. We love the environment with the indoor/ outdoor feel. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and approachable. 10/10 Wish we had one in our town!
