The lady did a wonderful job, I think they were short staffed, so she was doing all the front business. The buffet, isnt real large, but she was doing her best to keep it full. We were there at about 12:30-1 and they served lunch, I think til 2. It was fairly busy when we arrived and still had a few customers when we left. Very, very friendly...🥰 we will go back again.

The food was ok, typical for most small Chinese food kitchens. The service was decent, unfortunately I had an issue with receiving an itemized receipt for my job. The atmosphere was small but friendly, very clean place.

We go to a lot of Chinese restaurants. Selections are good. Feel they serve too much rice with the meal. Went for the lunch. Egg rolls small and not a lot of flavor. No hot mustard or sweet sauce on the tables. Suggested they keep their website updated as we came from 50 miles away about a month ago only to find it was closed as they went back to China for vacation. I had specifically checked their website before leaving and nothing was said about being closed. Very irritating. Mentioned it to the waiter and he was aware of it but didn't act like it would get fixed. I'd recommend it if you're in the area but doubt I'd go out of my way to go back.

Located in West Union, IA. Was easy to get to.
Went at 1 PM on a Saturday. They offered menu ordering or lunch buffet, which was $14.95 for adults. I ordered the buffet and my family ordered menu orders of Sweet & Sour Lunch combinations.
My favorite items on the buffet:
Mongolian Beef (spicy but not nuclear).
Sesame Chicken (glaze a bit spicy but not much.
Other buffet items that were good:
Fried Cheese Won Tons (Crab Rangoon without the crab)
Mushroom Chicken in Dark Gravy with Vegetables
Fried Rice was just OK
Spicy Soup was good.
Egg Rolls were just the small rolls, not big.
Disappointment was the Sweet & Sour Chicken on the buffet and on menu was overcooked and dry. Mentioned it to staff and that batch must have been overcooked.
It is very family friendly with a sign there that says they welcome all children and don't worry about making a mess, it is all good. Very community oriented so that is a nice. They are currently on vacation until 7/15/2025.
If you like the items I listed, give them a try.

Restaurantji Recommends
A Chinese restaurant in west union? Yes there is! So the biggest sad was the wait time for food- to the point that we were starting to wonder if we were getting anything. Everything was a bit salty but portions were fair. The chicken and mushrooms should have just said mushrooms with a bit a chicken- very disappointing because the sauce was great. Prices— bring money because it’s the same as if you were at a fancy place in a big city- the four of us dropped $90 total so yeah

I know it sounds crazy, but this little Chinese restaurant in small-town Iowa is genuinely the best I have ever been to. I have yet to try something I do not like, dinner portions are extremely generous for the cost, and the lunch buffet offers a wide, relatively inexpensive variety.

Food was horrible! Cheese wontons were too sweet, orange chicken was sickeningly sweet, and the lo mein had a very weird taste. Small dining area looks very outdated. There was one girl taking orders and running back and forth to the kitchen to serve food, and checking people out. The poor girl was frazzled and said she was getting yelled at from the kitchen staff (The owners, I believe.) for being too slow. She said she knew she'd be be getting scolded after the restaurant closed. I'd heard good things about this place and was excited to try it, but will definitely never go back. Worst birthday dinner ever.
