Fun to get ice cream and a soda from such a historic place. Owner is very friendly and has lots of good stories/info.
A fun nostalgic place to visit if in the area. Enjoyed the ice cream and sodas and looking around at the past history displayed
This place is absolutely amazing, history is everywhere, the ice cream was delicious (it's been so long since I had good huckleberry ice cream). Highly advise checking it out if you are anywhere near Wilton IA.
The gentleman working was friendly and incredibly helpful. The wife and I loved looking at all the pictures, reading the News articles, and taking in all the nostalgia.
Great little shop. Very friendly owners. Checked in is frequently. Ice cream Sundaes and banana splits were great. Lots of candy treats from when we were kids. Freedom rock around the corner that you can visit.
Great service and friendly. Sundae was very good, nice ice cream and toppings. The strawberry malt was huge, but average, could use more flavor.
Wonderful place in Wilton, Iowa that serves homemade ice cream. The Candy Kitchen is an old soda shop open since the early 1900's, enter and you will be back in the 1930's. In the back of the store is a small museum featuring local history. Everyone needs to stop at The Candy Kitchen in Wilton at least once for a very unique experience.
Amazing experience! Amazing customer service 😁😁😁
This may have been one of the best strawberry milkshakes I have had. No one left unhappy and we all can’t wait to come back!
Be sure to check out the candle place down the block!
We loved coming here for an occasional ice cream. While the employees were polite, the young girl they had working the soda fountain might need a little more training. We spent over $50 here just for ice cream and the portions were extremely small. One dip of ice cream with hot fudge looked miniature. Each person only received about 2 tablespoons of ice cream in their order. I wish I was exaggerating about the serving size.
Such a cool little place! We enjoyed lunch and a sundae, which was very good. Then, traveled back in time a bit, touring the museum and the candy store. We found candy from yesteryear that brought back fond memories. Everyone was so friendly and our service was excellent!

First time visiting. It is fabulous. Best ice cream we have ever had! We will make it a yearly tradition with our family.
Wow, absolutely amazing, talk about stepping back in time, they also serve food and have a malt counter.
Great food .very nice people and a clean fun place to eat.Candy and more. Would definitely RECOMMENDED coming here for lunch or with kids. We will absolutely be coming back!
Very kind people work there very Nostalgic
You never know the places geocaching will take you .. GCAJJP0 .. Oldest Ice Cream Parlor in Iowa. We were traveling the area and stumbled across this gem. It has definite vibes of Lauber’s located in East Troy WI (it’s currently closed and for sale) so visiting here brought back floods of memories!
The history preserved here is absolutely awesome and amazing. The food was pretty basic.
