I am staying with my son, originally from Santa Claus, Indiana, and wanted to take my granddaughter some place she hadn’t been yet. Traveling through the back roads and small towns of America, you discover hidden gems and amazing places that you will never find on an Interstate. Today we found one such place in Wilton, Iowa when we stumbled upon Wilton Candy Kitchen, an operating turn of the century soda fountain and ice cream parlor.
To say it was amazing would be an understatement. The cherry Coke was homemade, the ice cream expertly crafted, and the chocolate fluffernut sandwich was childhood rediscovered....
Fun little store off the beaten path.
Small variety of nostalgic candies and we enjoyed the chocolate malts, which were delicious and very reasonably priced.
Store owners and staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome.
