My coworker and I recently reached out to the Donkey about having a luncheon following a funeral on behave of our friend. Getting a headcount for this event wasn’t really possible and it turned out to be HUGE. Debbie and Stacey were wonderful at keeping up with all the food and drink orders and even though it was a lot larger than anticipated we were so happy for the amazing turnout and service!
Had drinks was biking great location

Eek. I guess you shouldn't order a chef salad at a spot like this, but for $12 I got a paper sandwich basket with (not much) chopped iceberg lettuce, the equivalent of one tomato slice, a tiny bit of what looked like chopped Buddig meat, and a quartered egg. Partner got a tenderloin that was okay, but a but gristley and definitely not of a size to be sharable, as the menu suggested. The beer was cold, though. There is a cafe on the main drag in Woodward; go there instead.

Our server Debbie S was not welcoming from the beginning. We waited for 10 minutes before she arrived to our table, gave us our menus and walked off and never asked what we wanted to drink.
When she did arrive back to our table about 10 minutes later, she asked what we wanted and till did not ask what we wanted to drink until we said can we order our drinks. When Debbie came back, my Girlfriends son asked what oil does the kitchen use in the fryer as he has a peanut allergy. She rolled her eyes and went to asks the kitchen she then walked back not first roller her eyes again.
She never was seen again, until our food was ready to be served, and then never seen again until I had to go to the bar and ask for my check.
The food was ok, but the service and the way she treated my girlfriend’s son and us was totally unacceptable and disrespectful. Definitely made us not want to come back.
Lastly, I watched Debbi behind the bar and make drinks while holding a swatter. I am pretty sure that the health department might not like that, and that’s pretty gross if you asked me. She put the fly swatter down when she had to get my ticket and left over containers. Although she placed the fly down on the bar counter, again kinda of gross.

You would think them being the only bar and restaurant at the Woodward trail head they would have their shit together but they don’t. Very under staffed with staff who are irritated and frustrated. Food is ehhhh mediocre. Never hot. Salad always has brown spots. Wish there was something better at the campgrounds.

I stopped out for a couple drinks with friends. The ladies behind the bar were less than friendly and seemed put-to serve their paying customers. I not only waited for my drinks but also waited ten mins for my check while standing at the bar - with 2 others seated at the bar! Super disappointed. When went down the road to meet other friends they said it was typical. Wow!!
Food was good and hot, but the service was terribly slow. This was our 2nd visit and the same service. We won't stop there again!
