Great Hunan is by far one of the very best Asian restaurants in Ammon/Idaho Falls area. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. It has the added bonus of being right next to the Edwards Theatre (which can be wonderful for a date night or family dinner before or after seeing a film). Or heck, just go with some friends for some great food and share it family style or treat yourself!
This restaurant doesn't tend to get overly loud, so it is a good place to eat if you are more sensitive to a lot of noise, and the lighting and the interior are not overly-stimulating.
Vegetables here are not overcooked and are treated respectfully, and the food is not heavy and greasy. There are vegetarian options available. We really love the fried rice, Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef, and the Chicken with Snow Peas. The wonton soup and egg drop soups are particularly delicious.
Service is always excellent at Great Hunan and you never have to wait too long for your food; it is friendly and efficient and the interior is cozy and warm.

Very typical strip mall Chinese restaurant. Portions are a bit small, and you are given fried rice to share. Had the Generals Chicken, and although it tasted ok, it was overly sweet and had little to no heat (spice level). The atmosphere is really just "restaurant". You could turn this place in to a Mexican restaurant or a sandwich restaurant in about 8 minutes. 4 of that being hanging up a new sign. Would I go back? Probably not. There are better Chinese restaurants in town at the same price.

That was some of the worst chinese food my family and I have ever had. Very small portions and a serious lack of flavor. The included 4 portions of wonton soup all fit in one small container. There were only 3 wontons for 4 orders and none of them had any kind of meat in them. The girl at the counter was very nice but that's the only positive thing we can say about this place.
