We are traveling through Idaho and decided to check out Craters of the moon. This was the best campsite we could find in the area.
I was not expecting it to be this nice!
There is a small dog park that is very well taken care of ( they even have toys in a box for the pups and fresh water )
The grass is very well kept! The bathrooms are incredibly clean. You do have to pay for showers, but it’s completely worth it!!! The showers are so nice! …. I’m talking soft pebble shower floors and beautiful tile.
My only complaint was, I was looking forward to playing cornhole at evening but the lights did not end up turning on so I couldn’t since it’s so dark.
Altogether this campground is incredibly well taken care of! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone that’s in the area!
Very clean and well run place! Will stop here again!
Clean. Nice sites. Nice owners. Pay for showers. Good internet. Cafe and small bar.
We arrived today for a 3 night stay here. The sites are nice and wide, plus plenty long (pull through) for our 36 ft 5th wheel with our truck parked in front of it. Nice grassy sites. The owners are working very hard to keep the grass well watered. Nice dog park and lawn games available. No pool or playground. They have a restaurant but it is not open the days we will be here. Very convenient location for Craters of the Moon National Monument. We would definitely recommend.
The only cons is the gravel sites and roads (but well taken are of) and they charge for showers.(No consequence for us, as we use our own).
Very spacious and level sites. It was also very quiet. The highway traffic was the only noise, but there's nothing that Mountain View can do about that and, honestly, I didn't really notice it. Dog park and laundry was nice. The food at the restaurant was excellent! I highly recommend Mountain View, if you're in the area, and I would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in Arco on our travels.
This campground has nice level fhu gravel sites and some trees for shade. The bathrooms are big and very clean. However, if you want a shower that will cost you an extra $2. Also, my Good Sam discount did not go through on my online reservation and they will not refund.
An Oasis in the high desert! This well-maintained park is truly a home away from home during a long journey. The owners will go out of their way to provide comfort in their peaceful atmosphere. They maintain the property (grass growing in the desert is no easy task!) and provide clean bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a dog park. The food provided at the Restaurant is beyond delicious! The inviting outdoor patio is a wonderful place to gather on beautiful Idaho evenings to meet other travelers.
Never mind negative reviews (somebody named Ari, placed a negative review. I was witness to this narcissist who had no campground etiquette...walked around in his too-short bathrobe, purposely parked on the grass with his multiple vehicles for the 10 days he was here, preventing efficient watering and thus, destroying the site- the one photo he chose to share with his review. He allowed his dogs to defecate throughout the park without cleaning up after them. He rudely took over the restaurant as if it were his office, speaking loudly on his phone while other patrons attempted to enjoy their meals. He had multiple large packages arriving every single day and expected the owners to manage his deliveries. He has no consideration for others and has forgotten that while camping on someone else's property, he is the GUEST and should behave accordingly. This individual should NOT be trusted - his review is inaccurate on many levels.)
Come visit Mountain View RV Park and Restaurant while passing through this gorgeous landscape of Idaho! You will NOT be disappointed!
This campground is very well maintained, clean, and quiet. Most of their sites have shade trees, we enjoyed sitting out in the evening. The restaurant is fantastic! Generally we try to camp in secluded areas, and I was nervous about how busy it might feel but that wasn't the case. If we ever go through Arco again I wouldn't hesitate booking here again.
Such a great stay! We were originally going to stay one night while passing through but we sat at the bar/restaurant and after trying the food and talking to the owner we asked to stay another night! They had the best bbq and drinks we’ve ever had. The sites are all pull thru and have a good amount of room with full hookups. The showers were very clean and had hot water and a big fenced dog park where our dog could run around after being in the rv for a long day of driving. We were sad to go but will for sure come back when we’re in Idaho again. Great atmosphere and beautiful views! Ryan was an amazing host and Stephanie was a fantastic cook! Make sure to try a Super Spud before they sell out!
Love this Park! Seriously. Spent a week there recently.
I’ve stayed in RV Parks all over the country and I’ve got to say that this RV Park has moved right into my Top Ten. It’s a lovely park with sixty foot pine trees that have to be more than half a century old running right thru the entire site. Great shade ~ considering you're in the middle of the high desert. Grass lined
sites with gravel beds that are perfectly flat and all of them are pull throughs. I can’t understand what that Ari dude below was complaining about. Makes ya wonder…
Full hook-ups, 30 and 50 amps, and if you’ve got an extended rig or pulling an additional trailer there’s overflow parking. The entire property is unbelievable clean and extremely well maintained. All the sites are very spacious. It’s so nice to have neighbors that aren’t jammed so tight that you feel like you’re in a parking lot. Right? Professional laundry with games, puzzles, books, magazines, DVDs and Videos to pass the time while you wash. The bath house is also sterling. My goodness, I thought I was
staying at the JW. Looks like it's been recently renovated. There is an adorable restaurant which has the best BBQ that I’ve ever had. Ever. Many flavors. All kinds of entrees as well and salads and sides. The wings, burgers, ribs, and tacos are unreal. AND ~ there’s a FULL BAR, not just beer and wine. Lots of friendly locals coming in for eats and drinks which I had great conversations with about the area and its history. At the rear of the restaurant there’s also a well shaded outside area to eat and drink that has picnic tables, cozy rattan ensembles, and a gas fire pit which is all surrounded with string lighting. Just lovely in the evenings. Adjacent to that there’s a play area with corn hole,
giant jenga, and lots of other activities. I saw families hanging out there for hours at a time. The doggie area is expansive. Plenty of space for a good run, which also has all kinds of toys for the canines to play with. Can’t say I’ve seen that anywhere before. To-much-fun.
Remote as the park is, there’s plenty of adventure to be had in the area. Craters of the Moon is a trip. Literally. I was humbled. The terrain is mind boggling. Volcanic rock from 15,000 years ago covering the size of Rode Island. Yeah… It’s like being on the Moon. Nearby is the INL you can visit, (Idaho National Laboratory), which is where Atomic and Nuclear power all got started ~ For the entire world. I also visited a historical mining site just 20 minutes down the road which was amazing. Gives you a lot of insight as to what life was like back in the day. I also learned that there are lots trails in the area if you’re into hiking or All Terrain Vehicles and if you didn’t bring your own, (lots of the campers at the site did), you can rent them right there at the park.
I was very lucky to be at the park when the Illini 4000 bikers came thru. These are college kids spending their summer traveling the US, (from > New York City to San Francisco), bringing awareness to cancer. Outstanding Behavior. The owners of the park hosted the entire troupe. Fed them, opened the laundry and bath house and hooked them up in the generous grassy tenting area for the night. How cool is that!
If you’re looking for campsite that's far far away from all the noise of the world with beautiful views and quiet nights under the stars then this is the place.
I’ll be back.

My husband & I stayed here overnight, July 23-24, 2025, and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly & helpful. We had a pull-thru lot (A-8) with shade, full hook-ups. The park was very quiet (except for a nearby highway noise). The laundry facility & restrooms were exceptionally clean. The showers were amazingly spacious! We wanted to eat at their on-site BBQ restaurant (the aroma was wonderful), but had already eaten on the road so alas we weren’t hungry. We would have enjoyed staying in this park for several more days, but we were on a schedule and had to move on. We HOPE to come back again in the future. — Come and stay here! It is unpretentious, comfortable, and very nice!!!
Excellent rv park with awesome bar and grill attached. Had some great beer and very good food.
The owners are very friendly and the food at the little restaurant was outstanding. They have some of the best chicken wing sauce that I have ever had.
I love this park! The BBQ restaurant in the park has THE best BBQ in Idaho! We have been here twice and I can not drive pass it. Stop for the BBQ.😍🍻
Great sites. Pull through and full hookups. Quite. Restaurant and bar on site. Friendly staff.
