Dinner on 10/31/2025, which was also my first time at Candle in the Woods, was the best meal and dining experience of my life. Wonderful value for the quality of the experience. Treated like family. Food in taste and execution was excellent!!

A very unique experience. An amazing taste of fine dining. The food is tasty and the wines were a perfect match. Staff were so welcoming and informative. We left feeling like part of the family. Would highly recommend and hope to go again.

It's perfect for a date night that I recommend, thirteen courses of chef choice paired with the perfect wine for each meal.

Just had the most INCREDIBLE experience at Candle In The Woods!!!
It's an experience you HAVE to make time for.

Make the drive.
Make the time.

I attached the photo of the menu for tonight's celebration. I can't even list everything we ate because I'm at a loss for words. This isn't just a meal, it's a celebration of life, friendship and the food that feeds the soul. Honestly, this reminded me of when Jesus sat with his disciples and broke bread and drank wine. This wasn't just a meal, it was a life changing event. Worth every penny.

This was our first experience at Candle in the Woods. We were advised that we could not enter the restaurant until 5:50-5:55 PM for a 6:00 PM start. We arrived at 5:40 and waited in the parking lot with several other couples in their cars. Several chauffer driven parties arrived and were admitted, but not us peasants. We did not know that the other two couples of our party had been admitted early, because the doorman/host required that ladies leave their purses on hooks at the door so they wouldn't steal spoons. (This is not a joke.) Upon entering, we were offered sangria. I don't drink it, and no other wine was offered. That was a disappointment. On a positive note, the server prepared a fruit juice for my wife, who was not drinking that night. The food was excellent, the wine less than impressive, except for the Long Shadows Feather Cabernet. It was the only wine with a Vivino rating above 4.0. Most were unrated/unlisted/from unrecognized vineyards, or 3.7 - 3.9 rated, typically sold to average restaurants in bulk/on the cheap. For a meal that cost over $237.00 per person, I thought it was overpriced. The sommelier was too casual for my taste, and lacked the in depth of .knowledge of wines that I am used to. There were two intermezzos to allow the staff to reset the tables, which were nice to be able to chat with other guests. But, the music was so loud that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Would I go back? Yes, for the food, but I would prefer to bring my own wines.

If I told you the 100+ reasons why this restaurant was an extraordinarily unique and amazing evening, it would diminish the experience for you the first time you go. We will go back, hopefully many times in the years to come. Let us just say, the beautiful environment; incredible staff; the elegant and stunning table settings with attention to every detail were superior; the owner is an incredibly talented and skilled Chef sustained by a rich base of experiences and engagements during his culinary career. The food is off the chart delicious. It's one of those evenings you can't get out of your mind; can't stop enjoying the many special moments of the evening and wanting to tell everyone everything about it ... but will not – you simply must experience it for yourself! Candle In The Woods sets a platinum standard for food+environment+service = absolute delight!

This is an amazing food venue to celebrate with 13 courses from an expertly refined menu that is served with wines from around the world. This is a more than a dinner, it is an experience. We spent three hours conversing with people new to us, while being served foods that were beyond expectation. It’s lovely evening to share with loved ones and a beautiful location.

We really had fun! This is a one sitting at 6:00 p.m., 3.5-hour communal dining experience highlighted by Chef Connor introducing 12-14 different courses with a wine selection he has made to complement each entrée. If you're looking for an intimate one-on-one dining experience with an extensive upscale menu, this is not it! However, if you're looking to do some upscale food and wine adventuring, this is the place. Chef Conner is very much into attention-to-detail as well as creativity. For me, not every entrée was 5 stars, but some were the best I've ever had. Bottom line: Chef is trying things with his creativity and bringing you along. For example, one dish was not my favorite while my wife thought it the best she ever had! At Candle in the Woods, you are partaking in a culinary adventure, not sheltering in a food safe zone! Sidebar: Chef Connor is an extreme extrovert, so he will be out interacting with you. Remember... Family style. You will sit down at a communal table with strangers and meet people from many different walks of life, and all with interesting stories. To summarize, as I started, WE HAD A BLAST!

Very diverse menu with thoughtful beverage pairing. Well timed presentation of the successive dishes, which were all freshly prepared. Three of the dishes had excessive salt, which was a surprising occurrence given the care shown in all the dishes.

Absolutely wonderful experience. 13 course meal with wine pairings. Expertly done by a outstanding staff. Meals were exquisite and plated to perfection. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a celebration meal.

Back in the day, I used to drive clients here in a limousine and watch them roll out with happy stomachs and smug grins. Fast forward to my honeymoon, and guess where I ended up taking my brand-new bride? Yep straight here, because nothing says “eternal love” like 12 courses of food that makes you question everything you thought you knew about flavor.

We shared every dish like newlyweds are supposed to, and by course number eight we were debating if we should renew our vows just to celebrate the menu. But the real show-stopper? Filet mignon on a s’more. I know, it sounds like a crime against dessert, but whoever thought of it deserves to have a statue built in their honor. Sweet, savory, melty, and meaty—basically a culinary mic drop.

I used to recommend people to the area to visit Beverly as the top of the food chain in this area… I know point them in the direction of Candle in the Woods.

So here’s my advice: bring your clients, your spouse, or just yourself with stretchy pants. You’ll leave full, happy, and maybe even a little in love—with the food.

The entire experience was very incredible! The food was fantastic and well paired with wines, the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Connor and Echo were great hosts! Their motto of making everyone feel like family was most definitely felt, excited to make a return visit in the future! !

Came here for our 12th wedding anniversary.

At $250 a plate and billed as a Michelin restaurant, we were expecting “Candle in the Woods” to be something resembling a building in the actual woods rather than a run-down building on the side of the highway.

What appears to have been a fine dining establishment in the not-too-distant past, the owner passed this Mickey Mouse operation down to his son seemingly within the last year or so.

Fifteen minutes after being sent upstairs with premade (?) sangria (?), the son came up to start what can only be described as a bad standup comedy routine where he described his experience making food collected along his decade-long dance instructor tour across the world. As in, totally out of his depth.

None of the wines worked with any of the dishes, which I can quite charitably describe as if some 20-something asked Chat GPT to come up with an inventive menu and asked literal 16-year-olds to execute it.

Family style experience was fun but kept us from sending several dishes back so as to avoid ruining the night for others. Thank God we finished in 3 hours.

We were disappointed with the food and wine. Fun experience, but absolutely not worth the money at all. At the end of the meal, the chef admitted that everyone in the kitchen was under the age of 18 except the sous chef who was 20. This was supposed to impress us, but it suddenly made the whole experience make sense. I do not want to spend $250+ per person to be cooked for by untrained children.

Julie

Overrated and overpriced. At $195 pp expected a well curated meal with sommelier paired wines presented by a professional chef in an intimate setting. What we experienced was nearly the opposite.
