This used to be my favorite place until they moved location. I always order chilaquiles verdes and guacamole con hierbas. The chip/tortillas that was served this time was extremely thin and more like a tortilla that had been left out for days. I asked for a second basket and the second basket was what they previously served before moving locations. When my chilaquiles came part of the chicken was hard like it was dried for jerky. Previously there were plants galore and I loved the ambience. There were lots of plants but we were taken to a side room with extremely low lighting. It was disappointing to say the least. I won’t bother going back.

Updated review! Had an adult dinner here the other night and it was so enjoyable. Our server was knowledgeable on every item of the menu and I was pleased to take several of her recommendations. I enjoyed a mezcal on special that I wouldn't ordinarily order and the corn pudding really blew me away. I was so happy I ordered it! We'll just keep coming back!
My son and I went the other night and just ordered a couple apps. The server was so kind and attentive even though we obviously weren't going to be big spenders. We had the esquites and beans and rice....Both were outstanding. The beans had a little heat to them and the rice was moist and flavorful. The esquites were salty and creamy and so satisfying. I'm headed back ASAP.

Amano came highly recommended by friends and family. The chef has been awarded the James Beard Award, and for good reason. All the food is made "by hand" amano and tastes exquisite. Although I appreciate a good deal of heat and spice in my food, this may not prove true for everyone as all our dishes had a good amount of kick to them. Just something to be mindful of. Drinks were mixed perfectly and complimented the food well. I would not hesitate to return here next time I'm in Caldwell.
I have yet to find a burrito worth a damn in the region BUT if you want a great brunch meal (chilequiles and some Mexican coffee), this place is the spot in Caldwell. If you aren't sure what to get, just make sure you get the coffee. It's very good!

Amano is insanely good. Everything is so flavorful and just perfect. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and kind. I had the guacamole con hierbas and the carne asada tacos. 10/10 would recommend. Can’t speak too highly of this place! Can’t wait to come back!!

Excellent service and the specialty drinks were amazing. We were seated in the vault, which is nice and secluded from the rest of the restaurant. The food was really good, and they made sure to ask about any food allergies. Substitutions were not a problem. It's spendy so it would be a place to go for special occasions.
