Outstanding Experience at Cattleman Café!
This place truly reminds me of what great service used to be like. From the moment we walked in, every single person was friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to be there — everything was done with a smile. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with all the wonderful old country signs and decor that make you feel right at home.
The food had incredible flavor! My wife had the asparagus omelet — packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I had the biscuits and gravy — the biscuits tasted fresh-made and the gravy had that rich, hearty flavor you just don’t find everywhere.
Wonderful service, great food, and an old-school country feel that makes you want to stay awhile. We’ll definitely be back — highly recommend giving Cattleman Café a try!

The staff was such a refreshing change. They are upbeat, happy, and very accommodating. The food was HUGE portions. They have nice thick bacon.
The food was good, very nice classic American diner with a decent cup of coffee and good food. Friendly staff they get my recommendation for sure.

Stopped for a quick bite on a road trip and this cafe is not far off the highway. Finger steaks with onion rings were outstanding. My wife had the cowboy scramble which was phenomenal. Service was fast and friendly. We would definitely eat here again. Parking lot is huge as this cafe is attached to a livestock auction. I would imagine this area gets very busy on auction days.

We are visiting from the uk and always love to visit Cattlemen’s in Dixon. We have been twice this vacation and both times were fantastic! We visited last night, 13th August and were served by Jess, she was just amazing, everything was perfect, food was out of this world and we were looked after with impeccable service and some great humour thrown in! Jess, you are a credit to the restaurant! Both of my daughters loved the great ambiance of Cattlemen’s. Thank you again, one of the reasons why we love visiting this part of Californi. Thank you again.
OK, Fair warning, this is a cafe for ranchers and cattleman and similar who are selling their stock here. So on Cattle days there is a barn odor when you walk in because it is literally part of the stock yard. If you cant handle this, too bad. This is not an iHOP. That said, the food is the best breakfast in the area. We routinely go there with our kids or just the wife and me. It is a country-style no-bull cafe where the coffee is black and strong, the servings are good, the waitresses are spicy, and most everything is made there. We love the Cattleman's Cafe.
Always a good place for breakfast. And the staff is really friendly.

Egg, ham and cheese sandwich on English muffin, coffee and milk almost $19!? $3 for a coffee out of a pot…yeah will be desperate if I go back. You can go to Shady acres (state street) and get the same thing for $10 just as good, if not better.
