1st time trying Gandalfos in Caldwell. I had ordered online. I ordered 2 sandwiches and coleslaw. When I got home I had a note that said the don't sell Coleslaw at that location and they gave me a container of lettuce, container of I think ranch dressing and a container of pepper. All they had to do was let me know when I got there they don't carry coleslaw and refund my money or offer me another option. That would have been acceptable. They didn't say anything to me when I picked up the order. Instead I paid $3.49 for ingredients that do not make coleslaw. Our sandwiches were also labeled wrong as well. I was so excited to try them but I will not be going back.

Overall, pretty good, but nothing to quite rave about.
Fiancé and I got a couple sandwiches (a 6” and a 12”) with a side pickle and a side of mac. About $36. Sandwiches were pretty good, but nothing to quite rave about for the price. Pickle was good, cold and crispy! Mac was the biggest disappointment. Flavor wasn’t bad but noodles were very overcooked and more like a mush.

I would honestly say the food was lackluster. It was just alright! There is nothing special about it. Especially with it being 20 dollars for a sandwich, side, and drink i expected more.
The bread was dry, but the meat was good.
It wasn't gross. It wasn't spectacular

Best Pastrami I’ve had in years! Ordered takeout, a Rockefeller Ruben and NY Liberty. Ruben was loaded with the perfect amount of meat delicious! Liberty bread was very soft and pillowy. Seating in the covered patio and atmosphere in the area is unique. Definitely recommend and we will be back.

Nothing much was amazing during the visit. Out of several ingredients and the pastrami was good but ordinary.

Food was alright, mac and cheese was really good. Service sucked the employees kinda acted like they had no idea what was going on forgetting multiple things and asking for salt and pepper seemed like kind of a chore was told they don't really have that for customers.

Loved it the moment I walked in. The New York decor was so creative and everything was clean. I got the Big Apple which was delicious! It was a big sandwich so I didn’t think I’d finish it but I kept wanting more even after I was full. I can’t wait to try some of their other specialty sandwiches. I also didn’t realize they had other options outside of sandwiches so that was a nice surprise. They also have gluten free which was another nice surprise as my daughter is sensitive. Great, friendly staff. Quick and professional.

Ordered via the Toast App and sandwiches were done on time. Ladies working behind the counter were very friendly which is wonderful for just a to-go order. I got the Bridge Hampton, modified to sourdough bread instead of a roll, and Wall Street Club sandwiches with a side of 2 pickles. The pickle is big and cut into 4 spears, and is $2 each. Good sandwiches but not great.

Dry sandwich, over priced. Service not helpful. More dry stale bread than fresh meat cheese and produce. Not recommended by anyone in my family

My husband and I enjoyed this for the first time tonight. I got the big apple and he got the little Italy (we got them both served hot), along with some of the mac and cheese. Both sandwiches were delicious, bread was soft, flavors were bold and delicious. The mac and cheese was also amazing, very cheesey, and full of flavor. We will definitely be back soon.

What the heck!? I got all the way home and opened my sandwich to find that my sandwich is mainly bread with a couple slices of meat. I have ordered this sandwich before and had a more generous portion of meat. What a waste of money since I can get more at Port of Subs or even Subway. Very disappointing.

Iv been to their meridian location a few times and loved it, I was in the area and stopped by this location excepting to have the same experience. I tried to order the same thing i normally get only to realize they don't offer the same things as their meridian location. When I got my sandwiches they were more bread then anything and we're missing some of the add ons I paid for. I'm normally not the type to ask for a refund or complain so I was just going to eat it but the person I was with convinced me to go back and ask for a refund they agreed after calling the owner. A few months later and I never got a refund. I dont normally complain but like I said the sandwiches were mostly bread and missing some things. The employees were great though they immediately accepted and recognized their mistakes and worked to fix it, they were incredibly apologetic about the whole mishap
