The Sweet Spot Bakery Cafe

It was my first time going I was super excited to try it. My friend and I did go a little before closing so we got our coffee and went outside to sit in the shade to drink it. Came back to nasty note on my car not even 20mins later accusing me of being a drunk. I understand I came a little late but it doesn’t give you guys an excuse to be disrespectful and assume I am a drunk when I was literally a buying customer prior to going outside. Will not be coming back!

Chicken pot pie, that you buy frozen and cook at home, was outstanding and reasonable. My second time getting that. Also since I was there I got a apple Danish which also was very good, with real apples. Something you don't get at the market.

I have always really loved this place, I often pick up cakes from the pre-made cake fridge and my daughter’s 19th cake special ordered from them. But on my mother’s birthday, I realized too late they close at 3. This is obviously my own fault for not realizing it sooner and I own that, but I called to ask if they could stay open five minutes later for me to come buy a cake. That’s all I needed. When I called, I immediately expressed I would be there at 3:05 and just need to grab a cake and be on my way. She listed all of the pre-made cake options available, I said awesome and again asked if they could stay open an extra five minutes so I could buy one. She refused, told me they close at three and would not stay open. Such a lack of empathy or hospitality.

I had a red velvet Birthday cake made for my gf Judy’s birthday. The cake was beautiful outside, but very dry inside! I had it in the fridge because it was cream cheese frosting as instructed by the bakery. I spent alot of money to have this cake on a special day and it was not worth the money being that it was made almost a whole day before pick up. I wish it didn’t happen like this! It was more brown than red, and it was more gritty than velvet!

I had Sweet Spot make a custom cake for my girlfriend’s birthday. I know approximately nothing about cake design, so I had zero ideas to share with their team about how I wanted the cake decorated. When I picked the cake up, it was decorated phenomenally. I was beyond impressed. The cake also tasted fantastic. Everyone raved about how delicious the cake was. The two ladies that helped me were also super helpful! Highly recommend

How does this place only have a 4.5 stars? I have ordered cakes from here, custom, as well as several small treats that they made, and I have never been disappointed. I'm very picky with my sweets, quality is top priority. And they sell nothing but quality. Absolutely love this place and everything they do. If you're hesitating, don't. All you're doing is wasting precious sweet tasting time.

I am beyond pleased with my cake!! We wanted a scary bloody cake and said do what you want and Cathey I believe did her magic! I am always go to them for my cakes. 🎂

Two words describe my cupcake experience from the Sweet Spot. “Sheer disappointment”.
What I expected and what I received were complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I specifically like to purchase baked goods from a bakery for the freshness, care of ingredients for taste as well as appearance of the decorating skills (we do eat with our eyes first). I have no problem spending above average costs for above average products. With that being said, I visited the Sweet Spot Bakery in Caldwell, Idaho for the first time this weekend and I assure you this was the last. I paid $3.50 PER cupcake. That’s $21.00 for a half dozen!!! If you look at the picture, this cupcake isn’t any bigger than a pre-packaged grocery store chain product and in fact, is smaller! Not just the size, but the texture was that of a cupcake that had sat out for at least two days. The claimed flavor for this particular cupcake was sweet vanilla…. Ummmmm ok, if you say so.
I would have truthfully gotten a bigger, better tasting cupcake from the bakery at WalMart and for a fraction of the cost. Their product isn’t anywhere near the league their prices dictate.
If you want a great tasting cupcake worthy of its price tag in taste, size and appearance…SmallCakes on Overland Rd in Boise will be well worth the ride.
