I have lived in the Coeur d’Alene area, my whole life and never experienced gourmet like the ones made at Lantern doughnut. Not only do they look beautiful, but they taste even better. I highly recommend giving them a shot. You won’t regret it!!

They now rotate flavors every two weeks, and their model just keeps getting better. Priced at $4 for standard donuts and $6 for premium ones, it’s worth every penny. There’s also a chefs-choice $8 option that’s usually a collaboration with another local business — often with multiple components that make it something special. You can tell when intention and love are put into food, and this place does just that.
As if that weren’t enough, I was given a bag of their Yanesha Co-op espresso beans, which they roast in-house — I mean, how much better does a business get?

I'm so glad a bougie doughnut place has opened in downtown CDA and I look forward to their ongoing, exciting and eclectic flavours. Their seasonal squash feature was probably one of the best doughnuts of my life, i'm still dreaming about it. They ain't doing anything half hearted over there !

Oh my gosh. This is without a doubt the best donut shop in the pnw. Better than dough joy or general porpoise or even zuris in Seattle. Better than OG voodoo from 20 years ago. Better even than doughnut project in nyc (rip). We have some true must visit places in this area (ruins and Kim’s Korean in Spokane, cafe carambola, best sandwich shack and el jefe in cda) that are as good at what they do as anywhere in the country and should be on any foodies map. This is that for donuts, a true treasure.

Lantern Donuts is fantastic, and what's more I am able to enjoy these donuts guilt-free, since they are cooked in Coconut Oil.
I am not a man who necessarily has a sweet tooth, but Lantern has demonstrated that even someone with that tendency can really enjoy a sweet snack.
I took my family there today, and these are the best donuts I've ever had. No seed oils or artificial dyes! We'll definitely be returning. Best place in downtown CDA.

This approach not only allows me to indulge without discomfort but also elevates the donuts to a level of true culinary artistry. The flavor combinations crafted by the chef are absolutely legendary. I've sampled many items from the tasting menu, and each one offered a unique delight. It's nearly impossible to pick a favorite, as they all shine in their own way. Equally impressive is the coffee they serve. Roasted fresh on-site, it boasts a remarkable array of flavor profiles. I typically like to mask my coffee with cream and sugar, but here, I find myself savoring it black. Each sip reveals subtle nuances that make the experience even richer. It’s so exciting to have a quality coffee and donut shop in downtown CdA!!
