First time eating there today. I like old school breakfasts and this is exactly the type of place I enjoy. I ordered the eggs benedict on the server’s recommendation, very very good. The perfectly poached very large eggs, on shaved ham, with a crispy muffin underneath. The Hollandaise sauce was not home made but was well rendered and tasty. Mmmmm. Potatoes were also perfect.
The thing that makes a simple breakfast exceptional is the attention to detail. The right balance of eggs, meat, sauce and muffin proportions. The muffin cooked to provide a crunch, the ham shaved and grilled perfectly, properly poached eggs and the warm hollandaise in the correct proportion to the aforementioned ingredients.
Here is another important, touch. Properly cooked and grilled country potatoes. These potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with the right seasoning. Most breakfast restaurants simply don’t get it anywhere near right. Michael D’s knows how to do it!
The other dish I was contemplating was the Irish scramble (will get that next time). I cannot resist corned beef and eggs.
I love the old school decor and location with plenty of parking and easy access from the freeway.
Very friendly, and excellent service. Service so good I felt like I was under-tipping at 35%
Finally, it seemed like everyone knew each other. Regulars, that means consistently happy customers returning frequently. A sign of a good restaurant.
Very welcoming, warm, cozy restaurant. The music playing was a great volume and very relaxing. I love the rustic feel with the forest photos on the walls. Love the location.
The service was great. Food came out quickly and fresh.
Restrooms are clean and well stocked.
The only thing that kept me from giving a full 5 stars is I was disappointed in the French toast. I was very excited since that is my FAVORITE thing to order for breakfast. This set was very dry and flavorless. Not hardly battered at all. I felt like I was eating thick, crumbly bread. No amount of syrup was sufficient 🙁
But my husband's scrambler and biscuits and gravy were absolutely delightful!
Vegetarian options: Side dishes have vegetarian options.
Parking: Small parking lot, but didn't have a problem finding open spaces.
Kid-friendliness: Kids menu available and servers are kind to children.

Go! Stop reading and just go there. You’ll thank me later. I ate here every morning in between eagle sessions. Oh, for the love of all things holy, order the biscuits and gravy.

The food wasn't anything special. Could definitely make similar or better at home. The service was great though and love the cozy diner atmosphere.

Greeted at the door with warmth, server was attentive and friendly despite being slammed, food was fast and amazing! The potatoes, omg... can't wait to visit again on my next pass through!
Kid-friendliness: It appears they saw us walking up to the door in the rain, greeted my toddler and I with a kids menu, sat us right away with crayons and brought her special water and milk in plastic sippy cups as to make a mess

The bacon cheese burger is huge and delicious. I’d asked for no tomato but got a slice. I just removed it and enjoyed the meal and visiting with about 30 of my mom’s HS Classmates.

Michael D's just rocks hands down. Top 3 in the Spokane/CDA area diners to eat breakfast or lunch. You absolutely cannot go wrong here with any menu items, bonus points for real corned beef done in house to perfection. Try the French toast too!
The staff are the epitome of friendly warm customer service that makes you want to come back and worth every penny of a good tip. The atmosphere is busy and lively and most weekends there is a wait to be seated but never too long.
Vegetarian options: This is a meat forward meat lovers paradise with few vegetarian options and likely cross contamination.
Dietary restrictions: Limited dietary accommodations other than egg whites and concern for cross contamination. Not ideal for diet restrictions
Parking: Limited spots and often full but worth a walk
Kid-friendliness: Family friendly all the way, kids will not be disappointed.
Wheelchair accessibility: Fair accessibility be for-warned about tight corners
