Mongolian BBQ is always a great lunch option since you can pick and choose whatever. They had a good selection of vegetables and a decent selection that needs, like options like true I don't have. Sauce selection. Cooks did a very nice job with the preparation of the bowls. Not a high class joint but great to grab a bunch of dinner and enjoy the Mongolian style food.

Super FRESH buffet of raw vegetables and frozen sliced raw meats to mix together in your choice of bowl size! Top with noodles if you like! Add sauces of your choice, garlic, BBQ, Sesame oil, Fire oil etc. and watch the magic while your do it yourself mix of fresh food get stir fried over a giant hot wok by a professional chef!Always delicious! Yummy!Vegetarian options: Almost any vegetable you can imagine! And FRESH!Parking: Easy in and out parking lot, well lit and plenty of parking spaces.Kid-friendliness: Kids love to pick their own food too! They're more likely to eat more veggies when they get to choose. Then they get to watch their own bowl get stir fried! Hey, and a fortune cookie is a fun treat!Wheelchair accessibility: Level parking lot and no stairs going inside, so super easy if you might need wheelchair access.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with our experience eating dinner here. The prices were affordable, dinner was delicious, and our server was attentive and friendly. I will say that, as a large man with an appetite, the Barbarian was plenty for me. After all, you can fill your up to four inches beyond the rim of your bowl! I would not have needed or enjoyed eating more. I like the food posters on the wall, so I took pictures. This is a good place to eat if you'd like to reduce carbs because you have the option to fill your bowl accordingly. This is a great place to eat.

MY FAVORITE PLACE EVER!!! Not possible to have a bad meal here. If you don't like your food, it's YOUR fault.

I like this place, it's outdated for sure. the waiting staff are ehh, the cooks are funny & nice. Food seems pretty fresh. But man it's expensive. It's a nice quiet spot for a late night dinner.

Are the cooks still watering down the food?Went here years ago. Yes, the ingredients were fresh. We made a great spicy sauce. Then the cook watered it down with is side of water while cooking. So disappointing. We We expecting him to use cooking oil or sauce if needed, not watered down ? or water.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. Previously I have asked them if their noodles are vegan and I was insured that they were. Today, I was informed they are not vegan and contain eggs. I am very disappointed and upset. This is not okay and they should be way more cautious to ensure peoples safety regarding allergies and dietary restrictions.

The food and service was terrible. The food seemed to lack flavor and did not taste very good. My wife threw up in the parking lot because the food made her sick. When we complained management and staff we're dismissiveVegetarian options: The food and service was awful. They let the food spoil and they water down their sauces

To Be quite Honest I haven't eatan at this particur restaurant, but I have been at one of their sister businesses in Boise (the Original Store). Actually my son is 27 years old now, and he was a baby when we would go into the Restuarant. A little older Asian Lady would come and take him out of his baby seat, take him back to the Kitchen and get him a box of fortune cookies. She even rigged up a set of the bamboo balsa chop sticks with a rubber band so he could learn to use his chop sticks. I am writting a review as I have looked a long time for Mongolian BBQ that I could compare to that particular store in Boise as well a another BBQ in Sacramento CA. Most seem to have the concept down with some really good products, but it has been my opnion that Americans have tried to ruin the Brand (Type of Cooking). BD's BBQ is one such brand. You have to understand that I am a caucasion that grew up in a small country town in Kansas, so it makes since that if I like it, that it most have been a different experience. The key to Americans hurting the Idea is by the cooking and some of the choises of products that go in the bowl. When I first learned about this type of cooking, Moisture was the key, the Aisians always said you needed to put I think like 5 spoon fulls of liquid in your bowl with your meats and vegetables. They would then use water bottles to add additional steam why it was cooking. In alot of reviews as well as me visiting some Mongolian BBQ in Wichita KS, they have refrained from using much water in response to what the people want. Carmalization on the meat or a crust. That was not the original intent of healthy cooking. Nor does it help the Resturant keep a clean cooking surface. Anyway I am glad to see the "The Original Mongolian BBQ" in Northern Idaho. I lived 3 years up in Spokane during the mid 1980s and my daughter still lives up in that area. I actually visited Coeur D'alene in 2020, and wa shocked to see some of the changes of the area. I am wanting to get back up and visit sometime and looking forward to stopping in for a meal or two. Thanks David DWayne Solomon

So i just went to mongolian bbq on Fairview and Milwaukee,I got the Mighty khan and did it the same way I've done it for years. There was about a half a cup extra that wouldnt fit in the box so i was charged for a small bowl on top of the big bowl so i just paid $30 for 1 bowl.I will not be going back. Not to mention they have down sized their take home boxes too.Im really really disappointed in them.
