Closed all the time now and has been irregular for months before that. Was the best sushi place around, but we saw the quality of servers going down hill since summer. Fish was still fresh and chefs were fun to talk to. Servers were way below par, though. One asked me how I "was liking everything so far" when all I had was a glass of Pepsi while waiting 30 minutes for my sushi. No sign on door, no voicemail message, no website updates. I'm assuming the worst for this ambitious endeavor to bring a broad selection of fresh fish and good sushi chefs to CDA.

My favorite sushi place- always great and fresh. I come here as often as I can and recommend it for any sushi lovers. Best in town for sure.

Permanently closed?? I've been by several times for both dinner and lunch, and they have been closed. They were going to have a tuna-cutting event tonight.... Does anyone know of this is still happening?

Had a great lunch today! Service was friendly, prompt and incredibly helpful. I am celiac and had questions about what I could order. My questions were answered quickly and clearly and my meal was fabulous. I ordered the Rainbow and TNT rolls. The chef modified as needed (I'm not picky) to be celiac safe. The fresh and clean flavor of the rainbow roll was beautiful. The TNT roll was delicious with a nice spice and warmth. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming. Can't wait to come back!

I can honestly say this is the worst sushi and ramen I’ve ever had. I started with the ramen and it was tasteless and the noodles tasted like playdoh. There was almost no meat and it was not seasoned well. I then thought it is a sushi place maybe they just aren’t good at ramen, so I ordered the tnt roll. It was awful, the menu says snow crab but I’m pretty sure it’s just imitation crab because I saw him make it. The scallops were supposed to be seared but he just hit them with a blowtorch, which resulted in the roll tasting like butane. The staff was really friendly and nice, I loved the server and the sushi chef but I will never come back because of the quality of food. I’ve never been more disappointed and dissatisfied with a meal in my life, it was overpriced and horrible quality. I would recommend syringa instead, they have great sushi.

I used to love coming here, especially for birthdays. The food was good the restaurant is cute. However, the last 2 times IN A ROW, they just did not show up to the restaurant...didn't even call to let us know when we had a reservation. Left us completely high and dry for 2 birthdays.I will never be returning, as Takara clearly does not care about their customers so I do not care to give them my business.Do yourself a favor and make reservations at Shiki instead.

This will be a never again for us...the Tonkotsu ramen noodles were strangely disintegrating and a clump of overcooked or too overworked dough...regardless of what it was the only thing that we could actually consume was the broth and the hard boiled egg... the bento box was just as pitiful. If you're a person of color this is not the place for you which is apparent by the menu and decor. I wish I would've known beforehand because I have no desire to support outwardly close minded and severely misinformed business. The quality and taste of the food definitely did not meet the price by any means.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of sushi as well as the portion of the rolls. In particular the Kimoko, very generous on the amount of salmon. The lemon on top adds such a fresh unique flavor you don't see too often. Although it took a long time to get our sushi the staff has very friendly service. Wouldn't stop me from coming back. Delicious!!

I would have given this a 5 star rating as the food, service and decor were absolutely great…but the music was so loud and annoying that it made it difficult to talk and hear one another. Very fast music that made you feel anxious and made me want to hurry up and leave. Not the place to celebrate my friend’s birthday and enjoy relaxing conversation and great food. The Kimiko roll is unbelievably fresh and delicious and I may get it to go next time. Hopefully the owner/staff will take in consideration all the senses, including sound.

I never leave reviews, but this time I just had to do something about the quality of the food I received here.Let’s start with saying that I’m not a complainer, we are used to Seattle cuisine so might be coming from a spoiled perspective, but I can’t even imagine how you could mess up my meal and partner’s so bad that we couldn’t even finish it.The beef bowl I had had hard rice, no flavor, and a horrible balance of ingredients. My partners Ramen was extremely oily and the noodles tasted like play dough extruded noodles dipped in candle wax. We even asked our server if they recommended these items and trusted them. Literally leaves a bad taste in our mouths. The beer that was served to me was also flat.Reading the reviews, maybe the sushi is great and fresh and that’s awesome. But please be ware that any of the other items on the menu may be extremely low quality, poorly prepared, and way to expensive for what you are actually getting.I hope this restaurant improves and realizes that if they are to charge that much, the quality needs to improve tenfold.

Was happy to find a decent sushi restaurant close to the Coeur D'Alene Resort. We sat at the sushi bar and the Sushi Chef, Erich, was very nice, skilled and worked quickly. He was humble as well and commented that he credited his boss, Kenta for his success. We didn't see much out of Kenta in terms of assistance for Erich who was literally hitting it out of the park with his efficiency. Erich was the only one supplying sushi for the crowded restaurant. He was literally the Lone Ranger. Kenta didn't acknowledge us or any other patron which is strange for an owner. The food was good, pricing was fabulous and the service from Erich was excellent.
