“Navigating the Construction for a Bodacious Reward 🐷🐷🐷 Today, I had a lunch meeting at Bodacious Pig Barbecue, and we were determined to get there despite the construction on Old State Street. The road work is a bit of a mess, but it’s a small price to pay to support a local business that has been an Eagle staple since 2013. The restaurant, located directly in the heart of the construction zone in front of the Old State Saloon, is a prime example of a business persevering through difficult times. Stepping inside, the aroma of slow-smoked barbecue instantly makes you forget the detours and road closures outside. We wanted to show our support and encourage others to do the same. If you're deciding where to eat this week or weekend, please make the effort to visit them. A little bit of effort on our part goes a long way in supporting the local businesses that make Eagle great.“

“Eat here all the time. The food never gets old. It is so good from the ribs to the Brisket and the Tri tip. Love there sides. Mac and Cheese my favorite but the Baked beans and smashed potatoes are incredible as well. Love how you don’t have to sit for hours to get my food. I never have to wait. It’s prompt service. Price is reasonable considering the cost of meat and everything being made homemade. The tastes are signature. I used to live in Missouri and thought I had tasted some of the best barbecue but not until now. So good you will not regret it. The deserts are incredible as well. The Bread pudding sundae or a mixed berry cobbler. Yum They also added new stuff to the menu. The brisket tacos and their new hamburgers. Then to top it off they added Breakfast the Brisket Benedict my favorite but their waffles are light and fluffy. Definitely a five star all around. Can’t wait to go back.“

Here are my three favorite appetizers from the locally owned Goodwood Barbecue Company in Meridian and Boise Idaho. Try the fresh made onion rings with buttermilk batter, the loaded Idaho potato skins and the shredded pork quesadilla. I also routinely choose the made in house potato salad as a side dish when ordering an entrée, which is creamy and not mayo based, plus the not overly sweet BBQ beans as the optional "two sides with each entrée." They have a separate lunch menu section for entrees, salads and sandwiches.
The service at both locations is always friendly, they hustle and the restaurants always seem to be a popular lunch and dinner choice, filling up fast.
Reservations are available for large parties. Just call in advance and the table is already set up with menus, silverware, water, etc. While not a separate room, there are two locations in each place that can be set up. We have ended up with as many as 28 people.*

There was an obnoxious table nearby this go-round, and the manager graciously addressed the party. This is one of our favorite local spots. Highly recommend!“

“Had the pleasure of enjoying the food from Big K BBQ when they catered breakfasts and dinners at a 4 day event I was at with 150 campers on a the Lazy R Ranch - an amazing remote ranch near Sweet Idaho. The variety was incredible, every meal was on time, there was alway plenty of food, they had options for everyone, and above all it was absolutely delicious. It was not an easy spot to get to - no running to the store for something you forgot or ran out of - and planning it must have taken was admirable. Thanks Big K people for all the fabulous meals! “A luau in the deepest snow we've had since 2017?? Thankfully, it was held inside and we had Mimi Gerosin, Catering Manager, on our side. I contacted Mimi at the height of Goodwood's catering season in December to request a reservation for our January Christmas party. A luau sounded great in September!Mimi guided us through the whole process and with her many years of experience, made it seamless and easy. Incredibly, our food was delivered right on time despite the snowstorm and everything was perfect.Important tip: Please listen to Mimi's recommendations for food amounts! We ordered waaaay too much despite her gentle hints to the contrary. She's definitely the expert here.“
