Best donuts you'll ever have and why I give 5 stars. Service is always abysmal but I don't care because they're that good. There is always at least three people working, yet only 1 helping customers - usually one wiping counters and one wandering around. I don't get it. Every. Time. So, be prepared to have a little wait if there's a line and to pay more than you'd expect. The coffee they serve is from Form & Function and is also fab! We usually pop in about once a month with the kids, order 3 or 4, cut them into quarters and chill on one of the big couches for a fam treat on the weekend. Fan fave is the hot mess, churoish (I think that's the name, it's a "twist" style with cinnamon sugar, and the maple bar.

Donuts were dense. Not a lot of flavor. Not a fan. They do have breakfast sandwiches which we may try but the donuts are a no go.

My kids and I have been coming to Guru for the last 7 years - mainly the one downtown. Last summer, we came in to this location and had huge, tasty donuts. The Boston cream was big and round and messy. The others were delicious. Today we went in, and we all agreed that the donuts have become very underwhelming. Dry, cold and almost stale tasting. We were sad and have decided to move our donut outings elsewhere. Service was great though!

Came here on a Wednesday morning, wasn't busy at all! The gal working was really friendly and accommodating. They had a huge variety still left around 11 am which was great, and per usual their donuts didn't disappoint. We got our faves: the salt chocolate bar, the high priest, Boston creme, and some sprinkle donuts for our kiddos. The sprinkle ones are the perfect size for kids in my opinion, definitely a treat - but not massive like the ones at typical donut spots. Their coffee is great, and everything is served up pretty quickly. We sat upstairs, it was clean and tidy. Not too loud inside. We'll definitely be returning!

I really love you guys but the service in eagle is so inconsistent. If you are going to close at 2, I’d expect food service at 1:40. I was told that the food station for breakfast sandwiches was already closed when I got there . Not cool when you go out of your way to make a stop.

That Boston cream filled doughnut got my heart. I was not expecting such a natural taste as compared to others doughnuts that taste artificial but that one won me over! You guys are amazing! Keep it up!

TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR REMODELING said the sign on the door on 10-24-23. Noting Yelp doesn't have that on banner, thought it would be useful to know if you were planning a stop at Guru's Eagle location.SPACE / SEATING: Good to see remodel is in progress because this has been an awkward space and in spite of being open less than a handful of years, I'm glad if they are rethinking how it is set up. We have done take out a couple of times but never ate donuts in as much of the seating is up a flight of stairs and I can't climb them. Also, on the couple of times when we popped in for take out, moms enjoying social time upstairs were letting their children enjoy screaming play time up and down the stairs including, on one occasion, throwing things over the railing to try to hit the customers standing below. Not the store's responsibility to wrangle the kids but it adds to awkwardness. SERVICE / EATS: Nice service at counter where the donuts (made daily) and menu ae displayed. These are frou-frou, creative (in the mode of Vodoo) and spendy (like $2 - $4ish each) donuts and questions need to be asked to understand some of them so helpful counter person is key. I appreciate that they have had several cake donut types as I'm not a "raised or glazed" kinda donut-girl. GF: They have gluten free options and as someone who had to trial being completely gluten free for the better part of a year, I appreciated that.COFFEE BEVERAGES: I mean, what is a donut without these? ;-) They make them.ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible (aka ADA) parking in lot near door. Level in from the walkway. Aforesaid issues with a lot of the seating up a flight of stairs but more in the back of the space.LOO: Do they have one? I haven't ever stayed long enough to need to find out. ;-) NEIGHBORS: Zeek's pizza (I would) right next door and Stella ice cream (I wouldn't) two doors down the other direction if you're looking for more eats.

The worse donut I have had!! I had not been there before and stopped after I had a appointment and thought I would try one! Prices are crazy and the Apple fritter I had was greasy! I will not go back!

Amber is so sweet and kind. She has helped me a few times now. Donuts are amazing and always have a great taste!

I'd read about Guru on a bunch of must-eat donut lists in Boise, so I was very intrigued. The Eagle location had a lot of options in their display case and I settled on the Rainbow Pride Donut. It was Pride month when I went, June, but honestly, they should sell that donut year round! It was really decadent and flavorful. It was also pretty dense... but good dense. I'm not normally a vegan food fan, but they bill this one as: vegan raised ring dipped in a light blue vanilla glaze, rolled in rainbow sprinkles, and finished with clouds of marshmallow. The description and delivery matched perfectly. Super high quality in their sprinkles and the 'bows' were very sweet. A little pricey as $3.45, but definitely worth it. Super nice staff and a very welcoming place.

Amazing donuts!! I love that they offer donuts with local ingredients and that some of them don't have any artificial ingredients or inflammatory oils, however they taste amazing!! I wish they all were like that and I wish the milk they used in their coffee was local. Our favorite is the old fashion!

Tasty yeast donuts with fun flavors that are rotating. Vegan breakfast sandwich made from an unglazed donut, vegan sausage, and just egg.

This location seems to be under new management. Gone is the creative and fun vibes of the old guru donuts replaced by black and white McDonald's industrial vibe. A majority of the creative unique delicious donuts are gone. Instead you can choose from old fashioned, chocolate glazed and maple bars. As of writing this there were a small sample of the old guru donuts available. Bam bam, Samoa, and the og.

As someone who's always on the hunt for the best donuts in town, I have to say that Guru stays at the top of my list. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly faces and the most delicious aroma of fresh-baked donuts. My husband is a coffee lover and swears by their brew, while I can't get enough of their chai. And let's not forget about the donuts - they're always perfectly baked and so flavorful. Whether I'm in the mood for a classic glazed donut or something more creative, Guru always has something that hits the spot. If you're a donut fan like me, Guru is a must-visit spot in the valley.
