Boondocks Restaurant

Boondocks has been a long time local favorite, so we wanted to give the new management / cooks a try. We were NOT disappointed! It was nice to see some old standards still on the menu. The service, food, and ambience were ALL PERFECT! So happy not have them open again ...

Stop trying to figure out where to eat the best meal - it's right here at Boondocks! The food is cooked to perfection - I had THE BEST steak, and hubby had the yummy special, Chicken Florentine. The salad was crisp and fresh, with your choice of HOMEMADE dressing, as a salad should be! Oh, and did I mention the fries? BEST Idaho fries EVER! Not the frozen kind, clearly fresh and well seasoned! Lest we not forget the cheesecake to top it all off - ooh-lala! I'm in a gastronomic food coma now from this delicious meal. When in Island Park, RUN to Boondocks - I promise you won't be disappointed!

atmosphere is homey and rustic, service is friendly, and the food was incredible. flat iron steak was cooked a perfect med rare, loaded baked potato and side salad were also delicious. the huckleberry cheesecake tasted homemade. so excited to have this place back in the neighborhood. 🥰

Good food!! But when I went Thursday for lunch, I pulled up on a boat, waited a few minutes for the establishment to open. Then went in. I guess my server was having a bad day, or maybe she was just preoccupied with personal stuff. didn't even bring a silverware, didn't refill my tea, didn't even come check on us one time for lunch. And I still tipped her 10 bucks to try to make her have a better day.

Really disappointed to drive up at 11:45am and the place was empty. We were so looking forward to trying it out with all the wonderful reviews! It said it was open on Google maps.

So, this is the third summer that Boondock's has not been open. I'm not on Facebook, but from what a visitor can see it appears that there are a few spotty days food or sweet rolls are available for pick-up and maybe they are open some in winter. It was good while it lasted and we wish the owners well, but we've given up.
