I have to say I've been eating at Bigwood Bread for years and this is the first time I've been disappointed. I ordered a Cobb salad and the bacon that came with it was a concealed blog of grease that was inedible and ruined the salad. In the past, the salad has been excellent and the bacon topping has usually been such a highlight that I've requested extra bacon on it. Thankfully I refrained this time. Guess I'll have to try something else now. . . .
Wonderful restaurant / bakery. Food was great and they have great patio seating.

Everything I've eaten here is delicious! Their sourdough is the best I've ever had. Everyone is always friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

Their bakery goods are terrible. Croissants are not real croissants - just a hunk of bread shaped like a croissant, with almonds on top. The pecan sticky buns are essentially just bread. Avoid.

Great food, however, not worth the poor service. Must be a suboptimal employer to seek such individuals. I’m not the first, nor the last to express such distaste for the attitude and demeanor of the staff.
Examples: no one making eye contact, much less smile. Carlisle was dreadful and made us wait to order while the line was the length of the parameter of the dining room. Needing help? - they direct you to get it yourself. Yet, they expect tips. The only pleasant individual was Grace. She certainly doesn’t belong there.

First time visiting, and the experience was awful. Took forever waiting in line to order and pay. We got a seat, and waited. After 45 minutes, I asked someone about our order. She said they were running about an hour on food delivery. No one told us that when we placed the order and paid. If they had, we would have walked out without eating. The person I asked got very snarky with me, said it was only 45 minutes since I ordered, it would be another 15 minutes. At that point, I asked to cancel the order, get a refund. She went back in the kitchen, and ironically, walked out with our order. The food was mediocre at best, nothing special. The server who brought the food was nasty, and basically threw the plates on the table at us without saying a word. We ate quickly, and left. Will never go back. $50. for two salads and went home and made a snack. Not sure why this place is ranked so high. The system for standing in line to order and pay, then wait at a table while the server walks around with your food, trying to find your number is a terrible system. It was loud, disorganized, over priced and not very welcoming. The kid working the register seemed a little lost. Everyone seemed very frazzled.

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch. We had the most wonderful server, Etienne. Her warm smile and cheerful attitude brightened up my day! She was so helpful and even recommended some of her favorite menu items.
Not only was she incredibly kind and welcoming, but she was also speedy and concise. It is clear that she cares about every single customer’s experience at Bigwood Bread.
Every restaurant should have a waitress like Etienne.
The food was great and the service we received by each member of the team was even better!

Lost order, do not go here. Service is slow and inefficient.

Truly spectacular steak and cheese sandwich (not shaved like in Philadelphia, so don't expect that). Nice patio for summer.

I should have read the reviews first. They all seem to echo the same thing - the staff is the problem. The menu on their website doesn't match the menu in the restaurant. Their staff is incompetent. I'm not sure if it's a language barrier or what but they cannot take simple instructions or orders. The manager is a piece of work. When we spoke with the manager regarding our issues he was completely rude and defensive. If this was my company this is not how I would want my company ran.

This place makes the best, no really, the best bread. I buy the bread in the Treasure Valley at the Albertson's Marketplace. Reading the ingredient label is a real pleasure. You know why? I dont have to trip over large words that sound like they belong in a lab, not your stomach. Please keep up the great work and care you put into your product. I will continue to buy.
