I had a nice, quick dinner at this boutique wine-focused bistro. They were fully booked on a Thursday in March. It was full, lively, a bit noisy (but that's fine for my expectations), and wonderful, attentive service. The menu was perfect for me as it is an a-la-carte offering of small plates: appetizers, salads, personal pizza, lots more. I could tailor my meal to budget and taste. The salad and pizza were fresh, carefully prepared, and really fast prep time. I will return.

Thank you Reece(Reese), Cece and the owners for the best dinner ever!!! They are so kind and accommodating and every single dish we got was a 10/10: vodka pasta, December pizza, ravioli, leeks, dumplingsšŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¦, quinoa salad, and the beet salad. Amazing staff, interior and food so I give it all a thumbs up.

We fell upon this place 3 years ago as we were visiting Sun Valley to celebrate my 40th birthday. I'm vegetarian and my husband wanted to find a place where I would have good meatless options. AND, I love books so he was excited to find Cookbook. We were BOTH super excited at our first Cookbook experience! Delicious cuisine - high-end feel, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. We have literally gone back EVERY YEAR SINCE on my birthday weekend. We even set reminders to book in advance as we know this place is amazing, well-liked and attended, so we want to ensure we get our spot. Highly recommend - and if you're a vegetarian, don't worry, you're sure to enjoy the veggie options, too!

Cookbook came highly recommended, and it was great incredibly disappointing.

The Peet’s Pasta sauce was more like a soup than a sauce, and lacked flavor. I added chicken, and it definitely was not freshly grilled chicken . It was chewy and tasted processed, like something you’d get in a premade salad. The server told us the vodka pasta could not be made without pancetta, which would have been fine, but my friend ordered it anyway and couldn’t see or taste any pancetta in it. The other entrees we ordered were fine, but not worth the $30-40 price range.

On top of the disappointing food, the service was terrible. The busser dramatically more attentive than our waiter, who apologized to us… and every other table around us for ā€œnot being very attentive.ā€ There are only 15 or so total tables in the restaurant, so if 5 of us didn’t receive much of your attention, where was it going to?

This restaurant has TikTok’s and Instagram reels, and it’s honestly incredibly overhyped. The distillery was a much better dining experience.

Late in the evening visit but they cheerfully sat us for a very nice meal. High quality pizza and unique offerings that you don't see everywhere. Fully enjoyed.

We have eaten here twice, once in the summer and once in the winter. The food is so fresh and good for the soul. We always try to get into this small cozy restaurant when we are in town. We hope to eat here many, many more times. It is our top pick for dining with 2-6 people in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Best meal we had in Ketchum! The food was delicious, the staff were all lovely and the outdoor atmosphere was everything we wanted on a warm summer night. We have a one year old and he loved being able to walk about the side yard. We were lucky to get in without a reservation around 7:30 but it really picked up around 8:30.

Kid-friendliness: The staff was all very accommodating. They placed us around the side where there were only 4 other tables. Spacious with gravel floors which out little guy loved. Safe and off the road which is a big plus for us.

We came in with high expectations. We made reservations weeks in advance knowing just how popular this place is.

The atmosphere, a tightly packed tent, was uncomfortable at first but we came to enjoy the buzz. The tables were very close together, more LA than intermountain west. Not romantic, more like a good place for a boomer double date or a hip California family dinner.

That said, the food was expensive and mediocre. I liked the Ukranian Dumplings! The salad was overdressed and not enjoyable. The ravioli was too rich and not very good. The pizza was boring and more like a flatbread.

We won't be back, especially considering how many other great restaurants Ketchum has to offer.

One of our favorite things is to find a " mom & pop" restaurant that cares about the entire experience and then nails the execution. At Cookbook, you are greeted by the owners, who seat you, answer your questions about their restaurant/menu, then take your order, etc. Tonight, this was followed by a great cup of sausage and kale soup, bison ragu with brocholini for me, squash bolognese for my wife, then the seven layer cake which we shared. All of these (except the cake) were piping hot and made with fresh produce and proteins. As for the cake, it was wonderful and the perfect way to end a perfect dining experience. The family atmosphere reminded me of meals I've had in small family run places in Ferringdon(outside London), Milan, Grenoble, Angier, Seville, Toledo, Madrid, and Augsburg, etc... Felt old school European, including the pride of ownership and the simple ingredients prepared well. If you find yourself in Sun Valley area, give this place a go, but might want to make a reservation as Cookbook is pretty small and filled up quickly tonight.

Vegetarian options: Couple of options.
