I can't say anything but great things about this restaurant. We were so impressed with the food and service that I wanted to give them a 5 star review.

I had a great experience when I stayed at Knob Hill Inn last time I was in town, but didn’t have a chance to eat at the grill. I’m in town again and ordered some fried chicken (a friend said it’s the best!) for pickup since I’m staying elsewhere on this trip. I used the online ordering system, which was simple, but I never received notice that my food was ready. I gave several extra minutes before calling to check. It was ready (yay, I’m STARVED!) and they brought it out to me at valet, which was amazing! However, when I got back to my hotel room, there was no silverware or napkins. The veggies were mediocre at best, and my popovers and honey were straight-from-the-fridge cold. The chicken itself was messy since I didn’t have utensils (oh well), but very good, as were the mashed potatoes that I ate with coffee stir sticks. Lol. I think utensils and napkins should be standard with to-go orders, but maybe that’s just me. It was good, but a disappointing experience overall.

We were already biased since we were thrilled that they squeezed our reservation in on a very busy night just before Christmas. We had a perfect corner table in the bar and had beef carpaccio, steamed clams, escargot, ceasar salad, fried chicken, lamb lollipops and prime rib. I'm listing all of these to demonstrate the variety of dishes we sampled and they were ALL delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary here & we couldn't think of a finer place. Menu included all of our parents' & any foodie's classic favorites, like escargot, lamb lollipops, filet mignon & prime rib, rack of lamb, proper Wienerschnitzel with the perfect balance of sweet (lingonberries) to savory (spaetzle), mud pie...Oh & piping hot, crusty, buttery pillow-soft popovers, our first!!! So addictive.Service was warm & friendly. But we should've asked for steak knives for our roast chicken & schnitzel, & mud pie...

Loved the room. We have been spending time there for years. The real issue is that the food choices have been depleted. There are not as many choices and service some days was nil. Lastly, the price has doubled since we have been going there since 2015. It is more than the basic room at the Sun Valley Resort.

Last time I had the prime rib and it was pretty dang good. That's hard to get nowadays. The bar tender was cool. Great atmosphere. Couldn't wait to go back. This time I had the lamb and in my humble opinion it was one of three things: the way it was prepared, the diet of lamb, or the age of the meat. I may not know how to prepare lamb but I know what it tastes like when it's not done right. My lamb was not prepared well. There's a certain taste to it. Not good at 54 a plate. Waiter was okay though he never bothered to ask how the food was. I like to eat out to a nice place mostly for the food. This wasn't it. Should have went to another spot tonight. Hungry and sorta grumpy.

Stunningly mediocre. That's really the only way I can describe the food at this beloved establishment. Shockingly bland. In the caprese with heirloom tomatoes they clearly refrigerated the tomatoes, ruining the texture. The "grilled king salmon" seemed as if the fish had been pre-poached and then slapped on a grill for a few marks. There was no crust, there was no tender interior. The little gem wedge was underdressed yet over-showered with pre-fried shallots (why?). Even the roast beef - what on earth is a "Captain's Reserve"?! - was flavorless. Perfectly cooked, tender, and so flavorless it was as if the kitchen had been advised that every single potential customer had a blood pressure issue. In fact, their dramatic aversion to the mildest use of salt was evident in almost every dish - thank goodness they put a shaker on the table! Even the popovers with honey-butter - which they claim they are just like Warm Spring's Ranch! - are a sad little saucer of karo syrup with a whisp of undersalted butter. The cold-inside popovers practically defiled the memory of that beloved dish. I can only guess that this restaurant gets such good reviews because 1: The garden is lovely. 2: The servers are prompt and friendly, and most importantly 3: the bar serves drinks the size of swimming pools. Wine was poured within an inch of the rim. A negroni on a big rock was, instead, a tub of liquor in which said rock enjoyed a quickly melting spa day. I am shocked the valets let anyone drive home! If fast service and ginormous drinks were my measures of a restaurant, I would also like The Grill at Knob Hill. But I like flavorful food, so alas, I was deeply disappointed.

We come to Sun Valley from Salt Lake City 3 or 4 times a year and this is the best meal we’ve had in this town. My wife and I had heard from some folks the trout was fantastic so we both ordered it and it was awesome! Met the owner who was most gracious and friendly and relayed the same message to him. Beautiful grounds and expert service! Unfortunately we probably won’t be back in town for another couple months but we will most definitely be back.

Lovely, outdoor setting. Beautiful gardens!! However, we were seated right on top of two large, loud groups of men that were hosting walkover random visitors popping up from who knows where! They were literally standing right on top of us. talking about the best prices for Gullf Stream Jets. Boring. As the evening wore on, the group consumed more and more wine and became boisterous and obnoxious. It was a turn off to see these wealthy people be completely insensitive and oblivious to others around them. We were not drinking and they were. It made for a very uncomfortable feeling for us.This uncomfortable situation spoiled otherwise excellent service and outstanding food.Parking: Great valet service.

Hey Taylor McFarlane. Food poisoning can't possibly kick in that fast. IF you actually got food poisoning it would have been from something you ate earlier that day. This is 2023. Try Google. It will explain this to you. Don't bash a restaurant because your stupid!
