The Snake Pit Reviews
Rocky mtn oysters are horrible compared to 2 years ago. The chicken sandwich was greasy and the lettuce was under the meat. The lettuce turned to nastiness from this. Waitress was awesome. We will not be returning for food.
Love the Snake Pit! Such great memories here! The new owners are doing a great job! We enjoyed the outdoor seating, great service even though the place was packed, and wonderful food! So happy to have this iconic restaurant back up and running!
I took my wife to lunch on the 10th and we had the fish and fries and the fish and sweat potatoes. they were both so greasy that we could not eat them. and the coleslaw was stale and hard. obviously it had been from the day before. I was so upset that they really expected us to eat it. I paid my bill and left. they didn't even ask why we didn't eat our food. and this isn't the first time that this has happened to us at this restaurant but I assure you that it will be the last.

The Snake Pit is a historic restaurant in N. Idaho, known for its excellent service and delicious food. Located in a building that dates back to 1830, it offers a cultural experience with artifacts and a funky atmosphere that reflects its long history. The restaurant serves hearty meals like chicken fried steak and Huckleberry French toast, which visitors have praised for their great taste. Recent guests have enjoyed sharing a Reuben sandwich as big as two sandwiches, along with clam chowder, onion rings with blue cheese dip, and tasty fries. The dessert, especially the huckleberry bread pudding with ice cream, huckleberries, and caramel, has been called a highlight, with many saying it’s mind-blowing. Visitors appreciate the large portions and friendly staff, though some have noted that the atmosphere and decor could use updating, as parts of the place appear old and worn. Despite occasional issues like difficulty with cell service and some sticky tables, many recommend The Snake Pit for its good food and unique history, making it a fun and memorable stop for locals and travelers alike.
