I finally got to come in for breakfast with my kids. We were sad to see the old menu gone, but excited for the new menu. Here’s my thoughts, we miss the French toast, the pancakes are HUGE, we wish they had a kids menu where you get not just carbs, but protein and a drink. I ordered the trout and was expecting a full fillet for the price, but it was a small piece of fish. I wasn’t a fan of the orange sauce, it didn’t feel breakfasty. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t for me. The potatoes were okay, burnt. The coffee was better than it used to be. The hot cocoa was good the kids said. The eggs Benedict was amazing my kiddo said. Overall, if you’re hungry it might be the best option in the silver valley. I wish they did breakfast more than just Friday through Sunday! I’m giving it a 4/5 because of food flavor/quality/portions and the waitress was really kind but I had to help move things along for payment after waiting and waiting with impatient kids. I noticed the new owners must’ve really done some cleaning in there because all the shelving and nic nacs are much cleaner and it seems brighter than it used to.

Amazing experience here. Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast and hardly anyone was there. The fireplace was going, and the overall ambiance was spectacular. Very calming dining experience with kind workers.
This is exactly what a dining experience should be.

What a sick little place! Our server was great and the food and drinks were on point. The fire place was fantastic after a day on the mountain. Will 100% be back.

Idaho's Oldest and Coolest Restaurant!!! If you miss this one, you have missed the best restaurant in the state! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is utterly amazing and what a fun place to dine. We had Cowboy Mac and Cheese and the Steak special. Yum. Look for the bullet holes in the walls while you experience this amazing restaurant. Truly one-of-a-kind.

I'm just glad they are preserving the historical value and using the fireplace again. Joe would be happy. You can go upstairs now? Is there now stairs?

I was born in Newport Beach, Ca.. My mom and dad were both from French Gulch, Idaho. We would go here on special occasions when I was growing up. Fantastic restaurant. One of a kind. Highly recommend for anyone. p.s. I hope it is still open.

The last time I came here, I was 6. I am now 36! It looks the same lol We live in MA and came to Idaho to visit my grandpa who lives in Coeur D’Alene. Therefore my goal this trip is to try huckleberry EVERYTHAANG. I ordered the huckleberry lemonade- delicious and refreshing. My husband had the huckleberry old fashioned- he rates it a 7.5. It was a little sweet for him. I ordered the snake pit burger with huckleberry bbq sauce. Also delicious. I made my husband try the Rocky Mountain Oysters for ha-has, but he really enjoyed them, as did everyone except my mom! On the way out I ordered a huckleberry milkshake which was a little artificial tasting but still enjoyable. My husband and one other person enjoyed the Reuben. Recommend and would come back again any time!

We were virgins walking into the snake pit and was pleasantly surprised with the hospitality and great food! We left with full intentions of trying out breakfast, so we'll be pros and may try the bull balls

Rustic decor. Prime Rib dinner was great. Get there early because they only cook 1 prime rib. Service was excellent and so were the drinks.
