Great atmosphere & tasty drinks. Bartender greeted us w a smile as we walked in, which set the tone for a pleasant visit. We had a cocktail & played a game of pool đ± . I'll be back! Thank you

I've never left a review and I am almost speechless. Ribeye steaks the absolute worst I've ever seen in my life. The worst truck stop food I've seen is five star compared to this, unbelievably disappointing. Yes, enjoyed atmosphere and service friendly and adequate, but for party of ten a little lacking. They worst reviews understate how bad the food is here.
Edit: Contacted owner and he responded immediately. I appreciate his timely response and concern for dining experience. I enjoyed atmosphere there and be glad to give another chance. Appreciate Tim, thank you.

Easy walk from the hotel. I liked the sidebar cocktail. The shrimp skewer appetizer was the best thing we had. Thatâs all we can say positively. The rest of the food was mediocre, at best. You can make it better at home. And itâs so overpriced for what it is. The service is extremely slow. The hallway got very smoky from the kitchen at one point. The area is beautiful and friendly, but we wonât be back to this restaurant.

Nice looking place from the outside. Inside was charming as well. Food was a disgrace and I cant believe the chef and waitress sent it out. Wish I would of photographed for proof but if you read the reviews of past customers, they were spot on. I asked local businesses if they ate there, taking a consensus of the town, and most said it has not been good for years and management won't listen. Now for the food. First over priced even for mccall tourists area. Girlfriend had sad dried out trout and rice with no flavor. Asked for a tarter sauce and was given a resemblance of a horseradish type sauce. I would suspect this poor trout, who gave it's life, was frozen for a long period of time, not to be served fresh and delicate and flaky. I had the chicken, who also sacrificed it's life to become a dry, hard over grilled bit of leather. Oh Idaho the place for potatoes literally grown everywhere. I was served an uncut unprepared 2 day old at least potato. When serving baked potatoes to a customer, presentation of a nice sliced open potato with large slab of butter and sour cream on top looks fantastic. Salad was good and ice tea was delicious. Wait staff was very understanding, I tipped a 5 spot as a thank you for the waitress and meal was not charged. Please management/owner listen to reviews and correct deficiency to make your establishment successful . Good luck to you all.

What a sad thing to see a restaurant die a slow death. The restaurant had two people on staff, one gentleman who lounged at the bar top all night doing not much of anything. Our server took all the tables and we saw her every 20 minutes or so. The food wasnât terrible, but it wasnât great either. This place needs serious help

First of all there absolutely no customers inside(7pm) , so that shouldâve been our first clue to how the quality and service was. But we ordered some drinks and my margarita came back in a 4 oz martini glass??? We asked the waitress if the bbq beef ribs were available and she went to the kitchen and then confirmed, but came out with bbq chicken wings. Said she would charge us for the chicken wings instead because it was cheaper, but then OVERCHARGED us 10$. Absolutely ridiculous. The âbeef ribsâ was practically oven pot roast with bbq sauce slapped on. The steaks were poor quality and chewy. So disappointing and embarrassing as I wanted to treat my parents to a nice steak dinner and this was what we were met with. NEVER AGAIN, waste of money youâre better off going to the salmon brewery, lardos, or Pueblo Lindo.

If youâve ever wondered what itâs like to pay fine-dining prices for cafeteria-line service, The Mill has you covered. Picture a $50 steak cooked with all the love and attention of a gas-station hot dog, paired with fry oil so old it probably qualifies for Social Security. The servers seem locked in a competition for who can care less, and youâll have time to finish a novel before your appetizer finally limps its way to the table.
By the end, the only thing well-done was my regret. Between the attitude, the snail-paced kitchen, and the sense that I was financing a mediocre culinary experiment, I left feeling like Iâd just been robbed â but less politely. Do yourself a favor: if you want a truly authentic mountain experience, go outside, light a campfire, and roast a shoe. Itâll taste better, cost less, and you wonât have to check your receipt for mystery charges.

I've honestly tried almost everything here, I could go on and on about the food but I'm not good at writing so I won't bore you with it, waitresses are always kind, piano guy plays on the weekends, and the place is LOADED with history! I honestly just LOVE this place and the food! 10/10!!! recommend!!

The food that I ordered was great. This is not a fast food restaurant but I feel our food came just in time. The decor is perfect for this area. I will definitely go back.

I will start this review with the good, the bartender was attentive, nice, and honestly great. Ive never had a truly poor experience at a restaurant until I went to The Mill and it was truly bad.
To start, it took nearly an hour to sit a group of nine after calling 20 minutes early and 3 other people in the restaurant. An empty restaurant and an hour wait after 20 minute heads up. Bartender took care of us very well during this hour wait, so this was not too bad.
After being seated, there was no complimentary bread because it was stale and they had not made any this day. So a couple of us had what would turn out to be the best thing of the night, the butter.
Within a 45 seconds of being seated we were asked if we were ready to order our entrees, the tablecloth was already dirty and wrinkled, and the bathroom trashes were full.
The salads were fine, but the entrees were a whole other deal. Every entree was probably priced 3-4 times higher than what they should be and a restaurant that wants to price themselves as fine dining should actually be fine dining.
Fish and chips were ridiculously burnt and black at some parts, and the fries on everyone's entree were maybe a 5.5/10. Mac and cheese was Kraft Mac and cheese with parmesean on top. The burgers were ok, but still over 25$ for something far far far worse than red robin.
I ordered a new York steak medium rare, came out 50% well done, and 50% medium well, not even joking half the steak was cooked way more than the other half, don't even know how that's possible. Friend ordered a prime rib rare, came out looking like one of Shaquille o Neil's shoes. Massive, overcooked and grey. Another friend ordered a shrimp scampi for 42$, and they received 8 pieces of shrimp, no pasta, no bread nothing else. The garnish for all these dishes was a single piece of carrot, and 2 kale leaves, not even edible. Baked potatoes were depressing, looked boiled, and just incredibly mediocre.
We were comped 3 pieces of cake and the shrimp scampi (didn't even bother to eat it, just sent it back) The New York was supposed to be comped, but ended up being charged for it anyways, but I didn't even care at this point in the dinner, we all just wanted to leave.
So just to reiterate, bar tender was great, other service was questionable, place was empty and somehow unkempt, and the food was bad and priced 3-4 times higher than it should be for the quality. I would recommend quite literally any other restaurant in mccall or the surrounding area than this place. So incredibly dissappointed.

We were deeply disappointed by our experience at The Mill. Our family gathered there to celebrate a special occasion: our beloved patriarchâs 65th class reunion. He is a highly educated man with a PhD, visiting with his wife, a respected music professor from China; his son, a lawyer who is half Jewish; his daughter-in-law, who holds a masterâs degree in computer data analytics and is from Vietnam; his niece, who is also a local and was celebrating her 56th class reunion, who is biracial; and her daughter (me), who also holds a masterâs degree and is biracial. While enjoying what started as a wonderful dinner, we had a warm, thoughtful conversation about Idahoâs history and how far it has come in terms of diversity and opportunity. Our great uncle shared stories about the lack of diversity in Idaho decades ago, and we reflected on how grateful we are for the educational and cultural progress we see today. To our shock, a waitress came to our table to tell us that another party seated next to us had complained about our conversation and left the restaurant - describing it as âinappropriateâ and âracistâ and we were asked to leave the restaurant immediately. It was humiliating and completely uncalled for. We did nothing more than have an honest, respectful discussion about history, culture, and education within our multi-ethnic, well-educated family. If The Mill truly valued diversity and inclusion and its customers, it would have handled this situation with understanding and respect; instead, it showed us the opposite. We do not recommend this restaurant, especially for guests who appreciate open-mindedness and cultural awareness. Idaho has come a long way - unfortunately, this establishment has not.
