Obviously one of the nicer places to dine in McCall, by a lot. We dined in the hotel steak house a few days ago and it was amazing. Completely different experience at Cutwater. The hostess/ gal that sat us was super unpleasant - seemed bothered with dealing with guests in general. Our server was attentive at first, but seemed to get overwhelmed with the dinner rush. We went ignored for 30+ min. My husband's halibut was completely dry and by the time we could get someone to the table, we just wanted to leave. We tried going to the bar and eventually going to the hotel concierge who was able to make several phone calls to get someone to deliver the check. View was great, but wait staff seemed super bothered to take care of guests. No smiles, terrible service and so so food. Last thing- we valeted 2x on 2 visits and had the same guy. He couldn't be bothered to get out from behind the valet stand and open the car door for the arriving guests. I've never seen this. If this is hotel policy, consider upping your game to match the rest of the valet service providers around the country.

The food was good. Temperature could have been hotter. Waiter was terrible. We sat for over 10 minutes and finally went up to the checkin desk and requested our waiter to show up..The atmosphere is bright and cheerful. Large fish tank with tropical fish is always attractive. We have eaten at this restauant many times over the last 18 years and have always found the food and service as being very good. This honestly is the first time that we have been disappointed.

Great food and excellent service with amazing views of the lake. Reasonably priced for breakfast.

After having 2 wonderful dining experiences here, I was disappointed this time. The vibe wasn't upbeat and classy as before. The servers were either super awkward or unhappy to be there. The food was satisfactory, but has been better. I will choose a different restaurant next time I'm in McCall. In the past 2 years all the servers were foreign (Australian, I think). There were so fun, nice, friendly and professional. It seems like the quality of help has gone down since they aren't there.

My husband and I were excited to celebrate our anniversary at this restaurant. However, our experience was less than what we had hoped for... Our bison chili was cold, we had to get up from the table several times to ask for water refills, no one checked in on us between courses (even though we saw the manager and staff laughing and talking near the outside tent), we were charged for an anniversary dessert (even though our server said she would “love to bring something for us to celebrate”). One recommendation would be to have individual lights on each table. It was challenging to see your food once the sunset. While our salmon was good, we felt ignored most of the meal. Not what we had hoped for given the beautiful location and special evening.

Beautiful view. Great service. Expensive food for quality. Dried out halibut. Salty yet bland sauce on ribeye.

The food was disappointing. The salmon entre was swimming in an oily tasteless sauce. I ordered capresse chicken pasta fish. It had virtually no chicken it it. it basically was an expensive macaroni dish. Service was absolutely awful - extremely slow. We will not be back!!!!

The quality of the food has gone down, and my water glass had spots on the inside of it. My daughter's fish was overcooked. The only saving grace for the restaurant right now is the beautiful view of the lake! It could be so much better- sorry to have to give this report :(

Always a special experience to eat at the Cutwater. We had a great table right on the lake. The food and drink were quite good and everything we've come to expect there. Our server, Jane, provided exceptional service and was very personable as well as highly competent. Another great night!

For the price of the food, it was not worth it. I got a very bland Cobb salad and asked for grilled chicken. For 2 ounces of chicken, they up charge quite a bit. The chicken was extremely dry hard to eat. I ordered a drink when we were seated. When the drink was empty (before our food even arrived), not once did anyone offer me another one. The restaurant area is very dated. The cupcake that was offered the bride to be was very stale and had no flavor. The best part of our dinner was our waitress. She was very funny and pleasant.

We wanted a table for 6 but ended up squeezing into a booth for 4. Make sure you specify what kind of table you would like. There were plenty of tables for six available but were told they were already reserved. There was a booth for 6 right across from us which was not used the entire time we were there. They also didn't have the liquor wanted for an old fashioned and had to get the drinks from the upstairs' bar, which we had a longer wait for and a separate tab. Overall our experience was average for a place that should be exceptional. Wait staff was very accommodating and apologetic though.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in McCall. We love to sit outside if we get a reservation early enough, but even the tables inside are lovely when the doors are all open. Service was usually good this week. Their summer staff has just arrived and they are delightful. The food is great and, not surprisingly, overpriced. You pay for the experience, IMO, and it consistently delivers

The over all experience was poor unfortunately. The entire place was not clean. The bathroom was filthy and the outdoor area was poorly kept and worn. The canopies were dirty and ripped the cushions were dirty as well and not attached to the chairs. They up charged for a change in cheese on a salad, not really something you expect for a restaurant of that caliber. The server was kind but untrained and inexperienced to a point is ignorance. Overall, very sad !

We had a fantastic dinner; the service was great, food was excellent and the price for all of this was more than fair! I would go back soon if I didn't live 9 hours away!!

Great brunch after a busy holiday weekend! The service was wonderful. We lucked out. It was an amazing time.
