Some of the best food in the Sandpoint area!We eat out a lot and you can spend a lot of money on good food in the Sandpoint and Ponderay area but for the money breakfast, Cantina is probably the best around!

This is my go-to for a burrito in the morning on my way to adventures or for lunch at work. Good sized portions, really good meat, and you get some chips and salsa with your order, even if it's takeout! Lots of seating inside if needed.Parking: Parking can be tight for bog vehicles! I wouldn't try to pull in with a motorhome or trailer. Better to park at the Conoco and walk across the street.

This is my second visit breakfast Cantina and I really wanted to like it. I ordered chicken Asada tacos. The meat was almost artificially flavored it tasted like, and some of the meat was like jerky over cooked tacos really needed a fresh element either pico or maybe some cilantro and onion. I also ordered a strawberry banana shake that tasted sour. Maybe they use Greek yogurt, but there was way too much. I couldn’t even drink it unfortunately for a $20 tab for two tacos chips and smoothie is a bit high for the quality of the food won’t be going backParking: Parking was not an issue

I never leave reviews, but felt compelled by my experience here. I want to say first of all that the food is good. Nothing exceptional, but good. I do think the prices seem way too high for what you get. I mean twelve dollars for only 2 tacos is absurd.The other problem we experienced was that the restaurant was just dirty and the people working behind the counter weren't very friendly. None of the tables were clean and had food all over them and when I sat down, my feet squished into eggs under the table. I went to use the restroom and it wasn't any better. I would like to go back, but don't see that happening if the cleanliness of the place doesn't improve.
Waited 25 minutes for an order of 2 churros. Didn't necessarily mind the wait 'cuz I was looking forward to a couple of churros. Didn't have to wait in line, the place wasn't that busy.However, what was given to me I wouldn't call a "churro"I received four 5 inch sticks that were burnt dark brown with no sign of cinnamon or sugar on the outside, looks like it came out of a package in the freezer and sat way way too long in the fryer.If you are going to charge $7 (plus tax and tip) for 10 inches of churro it better be at least decent. This is an atrocity aimed at churros everywhere.I'm sure the other food is great as everyone else seemed to enjoy the offerings and the presentation was on point, all of the food I saw come over the counter looked really beautiful. However, this nonsense needs to stop. Churros are one of my favorite things on earth, and my hopes and expectations of finding even a mediocre churro in Ponderay have been destroyed.PLEASE DO NOT OFFER A "CHURRO" IF YOU CAN'T DELIVER ON THAT PROMISE.

The food has always been good here but every time I have gone to breakfast cantina (a dozen times or so) the place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for days….food on the floor, trash cans overflowing, dirty tables, etc. I ate there today with my kids and we used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. The toilet seat was dirty, the trash cans didn’t have liners in them and it smelled gross. I had a really hard time wanting to eat my tacos after seeing the state of the bathroom ? please, please pay attention to cleanliness! It says a lot about your restaurant. I really want to eat here but not if it’s dirty.

Ok so this is and I hope will be my only time ever seeing this but…. While waiting for the order the cook was grabbing until of potatoes out of the metal bowl and eating them with her gloves on and then touching/plating the food. At the time I had already received my food and almost ate it all until I saw that. The food up to that moment was good but after seeing that I was a little disappointed. I guess I have always known that food handlers do that even though in food handlers classes you are not allowed I just never saw it happen!
