I've lived in Sandpoint for 25 years now but I grew up in Texas where BBQ was an every weekend thing. I have tried for years to find a good BBQ place in North Idaho but just haven't found a place that really captured the BBQ that I grew up with. Until now. We live down the street from Smokesmith and we walk by frequently. It smells amazing when they are smoking the meats. We finally decided to give it a shot. I was NOT disappointed! The BBQ was super reminiscent of my childhood! The flavors are rich and smokey, the meats are amazingly tender, melt in your mouth! The sides were delish and filling! I got a platter with brisket, pulled pork, and German Sausage. I have to say they nailed it! It was even better than a BBQ place I used to frequent in Austin! Sooo good!

The staff were really friendly and that goes a long way when trying out a new restaurant. I love BBQ and I try it wherever we travel. It was good but not GREAT. I'd eat it again, but it seemed like it was missing that little pizazz to take it from good to great. The flavor was muted somehow. So hard to explain.

Took the ribs down to Spokane, Washington to a wood carving Christmas party. It was a big hit. We had several rocks of ribs. We cut up and served and when we got done, there was zero left.

Honestly the best Bbq ive had since traveling the southeast. The prices are way too high though. Im sorry but its not affordable to most people, even when you are financially well off, to get a pound of brisket for $32! Would be nice to support this place once or twice a week but its just not feasible.

Really neat BBQ place. Extremely friendly staff. Food was all fresh and good but unfortunately most of it was so spicy my kids and I couldn't eat it. We got a little bit of everything and really enjoyed the cornbread. Everything has a very very strong smokey flavor. So if you like Extremely smokey,spicy foods it for you. Clean and welcoming environment 😊

Best Brisket I’ve ever had. I was stationed in southern Texas with some of the best brisket in the world, and this was up there with some of the best. These guys know what they’re doing- melts in your mouth and taste is delicious. We will be coming back, and often!

My partner and I were spending a night in Sandpoint on a roadtrip through Montana-Washington. Did not expect much when we came here but we were really blown away. Service was friendly, beverage selection was extensive, but most importantly the food was great. The brisket was perfect, the Mac and cheese far better than it needed to be, the cornbread was incredible, and the house made BBQ sauces were complex and versatile. We were coming from a relatively large city known for its food and I don't think we had had a meal as satisfying as that in a long time. I hope Sandpoint knows how special this place is, and we will certainly be returning if we ever find ourselves there again.

We had our wedding for about 70 people and we definitely made the right decision by choosing Smokesmith. They had the food ready at the scheduled time, and every dish was a hit. From the meats, to the sides, you can't go wrong with anything you choose. Thank you for everything! Would highly recommend Smokesmith for any of your food needs!

They catered my son's wedding. Talk about amazing, their brisket melts in your mouth, the pulled pork was delicious, and the chicken was perfection. All of the sides were a hit as well. We've had leftovers and it doesn't disappoint. A hidden gem of BBQ in Sandpoint.
