It took 15 years to come back here, it will take another 15 to try it again.
I was at this establishment earlier tonight with a group of friends after getting off work. Over the course of three hours, each of us consumed no more than two drinks. Our behavior was respectful, and we were simply dancing and enjoying our evening after a long work week.
I am a bartender, as are my friends, and I am very familiar with MAST laws and responsible alcohol service. Despite this, our entire group was abruptly cut off without any attempt by staff to speak with us or assess our level of intoxication. This was done solely based on assumption rather than observation or conversation.
I addressed my concerns directly with the manager and asked for a clear explanation as to why we were cut off when we had done nothing inappropriate. No valid reason was provided. This issue is not about being denied alcohol; it is about the unprofessional and disrespectful way the situation was handled. Responsible service includes communication and proper assessment, neither of which occurred.
As someone who works in this industry, I find this unacceptable. The lack of professionalism and accountability shown by both the staff and management is deeply disappointing. Due to this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment.
The venue is nice, the bands are usually pretty good, the staff is nice and the price is reasonable. The problem is the customers. This is a western dance hall, or at least it’s supposed to be. They teach dance lessons each week, but only the fast swing. They teach zero dance floor etiquette whatsoever. Because the current customers only know how to swing (or line dance), there is nothing else. 2-step song, they fast swing. Waltz, they fast swing. Cha-cha, they fast swing. Slow song, they fast swing. Forgot to mention that 80% of the people swinging have zero rhythm so they are just flailing around at whatever speed they can manage, taking up every square foot of the floor, making it impossible to do anything else. The “swingers” have no concept whatsoever of etiquette. If you are looking for a western dance hall this is not the it. They have essentially destroyed what Kelly Hughes built here back when it was “Kelly’s at stateline”.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never been so Targeted or treated so poorly ever. I had one drink and one shot over the entire four hours I was there. I had tacos which were knocked out of my hands outside by an intoxicated friend. When I went inside I was promptly given water and xs on my hands. I didn't protest or try to get another drink. I went to the bathroom, washed my hands and stood next to some friends talking when I was told I had to leave. I had put lotion on and when they xd my hands it was on top of fresh lotion. They accused me of washing the x off my hands. Im absolutely flabbergasted by the way I was treated tonight. I am in my thirties, have been here numerous times and had a fabulous time and tonight I felt completely targeted for no reason. You should be ashamed of the way your staff treats patrons. I honestly can't believe my experience tonight and how poorly the staff judged the situation. Sad to say I won't be returning or recommending this place anymore. What a shame.

Apparently if you aren’t proffesional line dancers that know every line dance you need to stay off the dance floor. Used to be a fun place but not anymore. Stay away
Staff kicked my family off the dance floor because someone complained that we didn’t know how to properly swing dance
If you've never been here's your sign to go! Try line dancing or swing dance lessons! Check out the DJ and live band every weekend 🙌 😎 absolutely love Nashville North ❤️

Ben is amazing.
We went with our bachelorette party and he went out of his way to make sure we felt safe and comfortable. He was very amazing and made great accommodations. Thank you for a great time. Live music was great with Dacota Poorman. Would go again!

This place is a fun place to go to learn to dance and I had a joyful time when I was there
My wife and I just moved to Spokane and wanted to do some swing dancing. NN offers a class that starts at 7:30 - Fridays are line dancing and Saturday is country swing. It's 10$ a person but the cover charge is waived if you go to the class. They've got a Mexican style food truck out back too that was great! We got 4 street Tacos for 13$. This place just had a great vibe all around. The staff was kind, the drinks were fairly priced, and there were all different kinds of folks out on the dance floor which was nice to see. It was all around very welcoming and we had a blast. We will definitely be back!

I used to be a regular at Nashville North and I brought my fiancé who has never been there and as both of us are navy veterans, we were treated very disrespectful by the bouncers and the maybe lead bouncer Ben. She has never been there to dance and she is disabled with knee injuries and foot problems and they cut her off because she wasn’t able to keep her feet while she was trying to learn how to dance. They did not talk to her about how she was feeling or anything. They just assumed she was too drunk because she did not know how to dance which is very discriminatory. It use to be a great bar but the security has turned into a dictatorship because they have allowed too many people to come in and drink underage but they take away the fun of the people that are trying to learn how to dance and how fun. Has turned into a country dance bar that discrimates against people that are learning to dance. Do not recommend to go there because they have lost there morals And values. Unfortunately becuase they use to be great. Bouncers there are not cops, need to be tamed. DO NOT GO HERE! Trust me, they’re trash. But soon there will be a new country bar in town to put them out of business 🙂
fun place
