I’ll share a few things about this restaurant and ultimately why it got a 1 star. The ambience and decor were PERFECTION! Seriously beautiful! My hubby had their chicken sandwich and said it was great. No complaints at all. But for a person that cannot eat gluten or dairy I had the option between a very high priced steak (which most people are not able to afford or much less enjoy) or a salad. I got a salad. Which….if you have a medical condition you totally will understand that having the option to actually eat a entree means the world to us! This is a message to the owners. Your menu truly is unique and has some great finds. But as a person that loves to eat something besides a salad and not spend over $40 for a steak I was very disappointed and will not be back unless the menu changes. I encourage you to add in corn tortillas for your tacos to add in another option. Give the option for a gf bun. These can be frozen if you are worried about them spoiling. There are soooo many easy gf & df options for food these days. Make the community with medical conditions have an option. Give us a reason to come back. Think about it. There are sooooo many people with autoimmune now. It’s a huge market! Give Post Falls something good to talk about and want to eat at!

If you are on I90 and reading this…exit NOW, then finishing reading this. A must stop for great Martinis (any drink), food, music, and what looks like lots of reclaimed wood everywhere. The Purple Politician’s sweetness was very subtle and I really liked the forward tartness due to the lemon! The French Onion soup was rich and deep in flavor, it was so good I kept burning my mouth because I couldn’t wait to have another bite. (Update: I found out that the American dip at lunch time using the French onion soup broth as well!). Any wait to try that! The I grabbed the bacon cheeseburger and fries. If you crispier fries, just ask for them that way. The seasoning is great! The burger is not sloppy, great bun, good bacon and tastes great. Burgers sometimes have too much mayo or sauce and this sauce was just right. The only disappointment is that after the French onion soup, these items were following a great act! McCally took great care of me and adjusted my order to swap the salad for the soup and likely saved me a few bucks. I’ll be back here again.

Nice quaint place , we met friends for lunch , my hubby liked the French onion soup and grilled cheese sandwich , I had the calamari it was so good ,prep just right, the lemonade with huckleberry vodka. Our waitress, she was amazing ... we will come again
We went to the Oval Office for my birthday dinner last night. I can't think of a better restaurant I've ever eaten at. The service is always fantastic!!! Prices are great!! This is not your run of the mill basic places to eat. The food is unique and so good!!

I’ve visited this place three times, and the food has always been delicious—until my most recent experience on Sunday, 11/2/25. Unfortunately, after dining with a friend, we both came down with food poisoning. We shared the Moroccan salad with blackened chicken, goat cheese, crack fries, and added Gorgonzola sauce. I reached out to the establishment via email on 11/3/25, but have yet to receive a response.
While I’ve enjoyed my previous visits, I’m concerned about the safety of the food served. If I return, I will avoid the same dishes and make sure food safety protocols are being followed more closely. I’m hopeful the restaurant will address this issue for the sake of future customers.
