Been coming to this place since I was a kid, but I would say that within the last several years quality has gone down with shakes. The fresh raspberry and strawberry shakes used to be amazing. Just went there last month and my fresh raspberry shake was not good. Tasted like just vanilla ice cream, with maybe one raspberry blended in. Color was white. In contrast, the same weekend I got a fresh raspberry shake from Hometown Drive In in Bear Lake and it was miles better. Color was vibrant pink with so much real fruit and flavor. I will not waste my time/money/calories with Big J's shakes anymore.

Overall Taste: 9/10 Creaminess: 9.5/10 Texture: 7.5/10 Smell: 8/10 0 Value: 9/10 Quality: 9/10 Final slurp: 3/10 (not very slurpable) How it makes us feel: 8.2/10
Atmosphere: 9/10 (We went around the fourth of July and they were so festive with lots of decor! Also the restaurant was super clean, which we appreciate!) Service: 9/10 (really really great service, got our food fast, and the staff was friendly and even brought us mints!)
Some notes on the shake: While we are normally partial to chocolate shakes, we had to try the raspberry shake here as it is apparently famous. It did not disappoint. The serving size was large and very affordable, and the shake was super creamy and delicious. The berries were so refreshing and yummy.
The shake is on the thicker side and would have been quite difficult to drink through a straw, but we aren't complaining.
Based on the joy that the raspberry shake brought us, we would love to come back to try one of their chocolate flavors soon!
Final verdict: is it worth coming to Big J's for a milkshake? Big YES.

We have been stopping here since 2020, when we bought property up by Montpellier/bearlake area. (kinda)lol. Anyway. I have never had anything I didn't like or that was cooked wrong. These are amazing people that run this cute hamburger/Mexican restaurant. We love Big J's
This Big J’s was packed when we came here, and rightly so. The flavor of the food was of that of ac small hometown diner. The Fry sauce and honey mustard sauce are some of the best around.
This place seems like it’s packed all the time, so, just know there will be a wait for your food. We waited about 15 minutes for ours. Also, be careful of the cars in the drive through, the main entrance is located in a weird place as to make people and cars interact in a way that could get science hit by a car.
