Well it's different. very out of the way, and very beautiful drive and area. Yes for some reason you need reservations? We walked in to a old moldy building and a smell of old frying oil. They were having a large party and we had no reservations so seriously service was forgivable. Cash only ( not forgivable in 2023) I'am sure this family works hard and long, but so do most of there customers . The family needs to get out an visit a few restaurants . Things have changed since 1910 . The food is subjective. The classic dish there is deep fried Pigeon ir maybe Chicken not sure. The plastic cups is a great twist on a Reservation type restaurant. Trust us its not the food that is there foray its location location location. All in all a good trip and worth a visit. just don't set yourself for disappointment. Thats on the menu too.

Had a delicious dinner at Deer Cliff tonight. We were visiting from California and our family was lucky enough to get reservations on one of the last nights before they closed for the year. The service was great, everyone was very nice. The leaves were changing and it was beautiful!

This is a family owned restaurant for at least 2 generations. The food is great. The atmosphere is next level. I grew up eating here and absolutely love Joy & Jimmy. You must pop at by cash as this remote location doesn't allow for cellular or internet connectivity.

The deer cliff inn is Traditional and unique we went there for Mother's Day and had a great time

Loved being next to the river and the patio was beautiful. The food was mostly really good. We didn't really like the mashed potatoes.Only complaint was the live music. Some people may love live music, but I go to a restaurant to eat and to talk to the people I came with. Music was much too loud (and we were seated very close, also) and we had to yell to have any conversation, and I would have loved to be able to actually hear the river next to us instead of music.Service was great and our waitress was very friendly. Will definitely come again.
