We drove up from South Jordan Utah to Preston Idaho. It was worth the drive. The food was great and the prices weren't bad.
It was great.
For starters, the burgers were completely awful. I realize there are a dozen reviews raving about how good the burgers are but...if this is what passes off as good beef in Idaho, then we've got to have a serious conversation. I did call to verify where Polar Bear Eats gets its beef....Sysco..frozen patties. Why oh why is this place not sourcing local beef when its sitting in the middle of an area known for beef production?
Oh, and what's the point of selling Coke in a glass bottle if its not Mexican Coke without the high fructose corn syrup?
Positives: The service was decent, the fries where tasty, and the ice cream as well, however vanilla custard is not an option.
I'll take money elsewhere.
Just get in n out if you can
English Potato Chips are amazing. Cheeseburger and Crescent Club was great. Food was good and service was fast and friendly. Milkshakes are thick and creamy...Thanks for building in Preston!
Good food, good atmosphere.

As much flack as Polar Bear gets because it is not the same as the original is fair but also unwarranted. The fact of the matter is Polar Bear is not the same as it was 20+ years ago, but the place has a good vibe, friendly staff and great food. Honestly, I wish there was indoor seating, but I do love the outdoor seating, especially in the fall and spring. The burgers are made with high-quality fresh ingredients and taste amazing. The logo on the bun is a nice touch, though I do prefer a sesame seed bun if I'm being honest. I liked all of the different options for fries they had, and I loved their onion rings, but they are tempura battered, so they are not for everyone. If you like a lighter panko crusted onion ring, you might think they have too much breading. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of their shakes. Both of the ones I tried tasted more like vanilla ice cream with stuff in it rather than a blend of vanilla ice cream and the mix-ins, if that makes sense. Maybe because there wasn't enough of the mix-ins, I'm not sure. Overall, though, I would highly recommend Polar Bear.

Our experience with the shift lead (Layla) has been 100% amazing. She went above and beyond to make us feel heard and extremely valued at this location, she treated us with respect and went above and beyond to treat us well. I hope the management does something special for her and the team. 10/21/24

The restaurant is a really fun place and we are glad to have another option in Preston. More care and concern could have been given to my club sandwich especially given it wasn’t busy when I ordered it. The restaurant was well staffed though and it was quick.

No indoor seating, no public bathroom and the chicken sandwich was pretty expensive for what we got. Everything tasted good and it was clean and the servers were very friendly, but too many things make it a no for me.
We had the chicken fingers; they were excellent, as was the chocolate malt. The seating is all outside, so that was unusual. However, there were several of us enjoying the great late-summer weather. It will be interesting to see what happens with seating in the winter. But, we will be back.
