I was excited to try a traditional American diner and the reviews sounded good. From the start the place didn’t seem welcoming, not to strangers at least. I was left waiting standing at the entrance with two staff seeing me but not recognizing my presence. The lady working at the bar was nice enough but food was taking ages to come out. Not only mine but several diners were sat without food. Given my short time in Sandpoint, I cut my losses short and went elsewhere to eat. This was at 2pm on a Sunday.
*Update following owner response* I placed an order … waited for it … nothing came out of the kitchen … cancelled it and moved on. If this doesn’t warrant a one star, not sure what does! But glad I confirmed that owners and workers there have an attitude and not service oriented.

Two stars because they do serve food. We were seated in the lounge. Breakfast was mediocre quality at best. Service was slow. It looked like the bar service for people drinking on Sunday morning was ok. But we were just a family, not drinking. Waited about 45 min for food. Waitress came by once to refill coffee. When pancakes arrived the butter wouldn’t melt because the pancakes were lukewarm. Asked to have them microwaved. They came back lukewarm with butter still not melted. Never got another cup of coffee and couldn’t swallow the pancakes. Breakfast shouldn’t be that hard, Other food wasn’t better. It was a disappointing experience. There is much better food and service elsewhere in Sandpoint. Try another place.
My wife and I were trying different local spots in Sandpoint while on our honeymoon, we saw the reviews for Connies and thought we'd give it a shot. First thing that struck us as odd is we were seated at around noon but we could only order from the breakfast half of the menu. The food was ok at best, our scrambled eggs were somehow over cooked and rubbery on the outside while being undercooked and a little slimey on the inside, the chicken fried steak barely had any flavor outside of the fry batter, but the waffles and hashbrowns were good. Our service was ok, but we had to flag down staff a few times, once for after our waitress spilled some of my drink and walked off, the other for water refills. Speaking of drinks, my wife was never asked if she would have liked a refill on hers and my Irish coffee was definitely poured with a heavy hand. We stacked out plates and set them to the side as a sign that we were done and ready for a check, but our waitress just kept walking by and acknowledged us, making it feel like we were trapped in an awkward state of mediocre food longer.

I treated myself to brunch in the lounge and it totally scratched my itch for corned beef hash. I was so focused on stuffing my face that I forgot to gather photographic evidence of the event. My hash was crispy and perfectly portioned. The only thing keeping me from licking my plate was the presence of other diners. I decided to keep it classy. And the mimosas were a perfect sweet complement - not too much OJ, just the way Mama likes it!

Came from out of town decided to stop in. I came with big appetite...the wrap and the tots was more than enough. Good price as well.

A very popular cafe to really enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, Sunday is a bit busier than usual days , waiting staff shows great old fashioned Connie's kindness and hospitality.

Horrible experience at Connie’s. We walked in and were state almost immediately and after 10 mins a waitress came back and took our order. 40 mins later are waitress came back and said oh I don’t know if I told you but food is taking 40 mins. So we were like well we’ve been here for over 40 mins so how long until our food is out and she said 30 more minutes as I just put your order in 10 mins ago. So I said what do you mean you took our order 40 mins ago and you just put it in 10 mins ago and now you want us to wait another 30 mins for our food. And our waitress just responded with well I don’t know what to tell you. So we left and our waitress thought it was okay to say she wasn’t going to charge us for our drinks like of course not you are not charging us you messed up and thought it was fine. As someone who used to work in the service industry this is completely unacceptable whether your restaurant is busy or not.

Outstanding service, fast and quick even if it’s super busy.
I got the NW Bacon Tillamook Burger with potato salad and a Bud (listed in orange on the menu) and it lasted an entire 6 minutes on my plate.
It’s sizable and delicious.
0 complaints and all compliments to the staff and chef.
