OH MY GOSH, I don’t even know where to start! I am wildly obsessed with this restaurant- the food, the atmosphere and the service were truly amazing! We had Amber as our server twice and I absolutely ADORE her!! Not only did she remember us but she remembered little details about my drink and was truly such a light.
The food? 150/10 ! The best steaks we’ve had in a while and their sauce was TO DIE FOR! After our first dinner here, I looked at my boyfriend and go “we should plan a yearly trip here” and yes, we love the mountain but truly it is the Crows Bench that makes me want to come back.
Thank you for the best time!

Service was excellent! Amber was genuine and sincere to our needs. The food was GREAT. I love that the beef is sourced local from Woods Meat. For me each item on my plate complemented the other. Complements to the chef!!!

They got rid of all the good food from last year in the menu change. No more fried oysters mushrooms, just your regular ones for $16 (these were super popular, I'm not sure what the logic was). One vegetarian option on the entrees, but 3 different kinds of steaks and why do you need 6 different salads on the menu 😂. How about a little variety. It's not hard to have a veggie burger, fish tacos, pasta (normal, not something with peas and mint oil) some Thai, Chinese, or Indian dishes. The locals were excited last summer about the food, this year it's a bummer.
I really don't understand the disparity between the crows bench and chimney Rock. Everyone's favorite place is Chimney Rock when it's open. How do you go from such a good menu, better priced, more options... To crows bench? The service at Chimney Rock is miles better. I really don't understand how two places can be owned by the same company and be so polar opposite in a bad way.
Our hummus tasted like something was expired. 5 others tried it and agreed.
Anyone good here always ends up quitting. There is one gal who's a bartender and is super rude, she replaced Kelly, which sucks. I've had several negative interactions with her. Most recently she roled her eyes and said she's not turning on the fire pits an hour before closing. It was a wedding party weekend and all she could focus on was getting off work. We had a party of ten wanting to get drinks and sit out by the fire. So we left. There is never enough staffing. It's challenging to run a restaurant with sporadic customer flow, but it's the same things people complain about for years, if they addressed the shortcomings I'm sure things would be more consistent.
It's hard to come eat in the village with one option that is expensive and not great. The prices aren't really the problem, it's the quality you get for the price. Go to St Bernard, food is way better, cheaper, and great service. Menu needs more variety, better pricing, and a lot more staff.

Maggie made the food and ambiance all that more pleasant on a quiet drive up the mountain on a Friday afternoon between winter and summer season… Its a delightful jaunt from Sandpoint and worth the stop!…. Bravo.to you all!

For an upscale resort restaurant, they have a truly pathetic menu. And what is on the menu is often “not available.”

Great service! My steak was very tough, but cooked perfectly. Apps and drinks were great.

Food was pretty good, but WOW…terrible service. Drink orders taken 20 minutes after arrival. Drinks came an additional 20 minutes later. When we tried to order another round, the bar had closed—without anyone telling us. Waitress was dismissive. Just absurdly poor service. But the fireplace is cute and the trout was good.

Very tasty location at Schweitzer Mt Resort in Sandpoint. Good food (albeit smallish menu) served by cheerful and knowledgeable staff in a beautiful setting. What more do you want? We had the octopus street tacos (appetizer but works well for an entree if you have a smaller appetite) and chorizo/beef burger with mango salsa and fried egg on brioche bun. Both dishes were excellent, flavorful and attractively presented. Portions are large and we left stuffed! Will be back again. The access road up to the resort is a fantastic motorcycle ride BTW!!
Parking: The ski area parking lot is large but fills up on busy weekends. Can be a long hike from your car to the restaurant.
Kid-friendliness: Open spaces and big outdoor deck mean good location for children.
Wheelchair accessibility: It is possible to access the restaurant and deck in a wheelchair with some navigating. Park in the upper level where there is close-by handicapped parking and no stairs.
